X-treme wins the season opener
The X-treme won their first game of the 2009 Fall season on Saturday 09/12 when they defeated the Wantagh Seaford Crusaders 2-0 at the Field of Dreams. The team came well prepared and ready to play. In the opening minutes of the game Kailtlyn B set up an nice cross pass to Sarah T. who kicked it past the Crusaders goalie to score the first goal of the season. Mackenzie C. played goal for the first half and shut out the Cruaders while making 6 saves.
During the second half of the game The X-treme came out srong holding their lines and establishing a strong defense led by sweeper Haley K. Haley S. scored the teams second goal midway through the second half. Ciara M. took the net in the second half and preserved the shut out making 3 saves of her own.
The X-treme gets a weekend off next week but regular training continues this week.
The season begins!!
The Massapequa X-treme will take on their first opponent on Saturday 09/12 at 11:30 at Field of Dreams in Massapequa. Come down and cheer the girls on
This will be the first game as a brand new team for all the girls and the coaches!
