The MSC Matrix - ( Sub Regional Colonial League Spring 2009 ) Division 1 caliber players who wish to join a skilled, dedicated team geared to prepare players for college showcase events are invited to contact Coach Patrick Pronk (sunnysparadise@hotmail.com) or the Manager Leticia Trevino Read (leticia@rcn.com).
We are the MSC MATRIX, U-17 (Fall 2009) girls soccer team. We have completed three seasons in WAGS DIVISION 1, and played two seasons Sub-Regional Colonial League. We beat FC Frederick this spring 2009 to become semi-finalist for the State Cup 2009
Our team and coaching philosophy is to encourage development of a seriously competative soccer athlete. Players are encouraged to play for their school soccer teams - we sit out of league play in the fall and play only tournaments. The coaching staff also believes a committment to school creates a better athlete and a loyal and group of girls and parents. The success of this approach can be seen in our steady growth as a team, with the best coaching in the area and a great group of girls and parents. GO MATRIX!!!

March Madness Finalists!
The Matrix faced tough competition from Ohio, New York and New Jersey in the 2006 MSC March Madness Tournament. For the third time in three years, the Matrix fought its way to the Championship game. Inspired offensive play, and typical stingy Matrix defense, led the Matrix to the finals. On the way, the Matrix held off the powerful U-14 Cleveland Blues. But this time, the Matrix came up short, losing a physical championship match to the U-14 Pennine United.
Potomac Memorial Day Tournament Finalists
May 30, 2005 -- The Matrix played inspired soccer to finish as a finalist in the Potomac Memorial Day Tournament. Eight goals scored by seven different players is a testament to the Matrix's well-balanced offense. The defense was its stellar and stingy self, allowing only 3 goals against, including 2 in the 2-1 overtime final against a tough VA Rush Nike squad.
Four games, four wins, no goals against--it's Madness!
March 20, 2005
The Matrix had an awesome weekend of soccer at the MSC March Madness Tournament at the SoccerPlex. Four games, four wins and no goals against led the Matrix to the championship for the second straight year. Sunday's games included victories against two higly-ranked teams in Region 1. The Matrix defense was stiffling, giving up few quality shots, and Molly's brilliant play in goal parlayed that effort into a tournament shutout. The final went to PKs where Molly's two saves combined with Matrix goals from Jamie, Caity, Mary and Cindy to give the Matrix the victory. What a way to start the spring season!
March Madness Champions!
MSC Matrix goes to UNC Team Camp July 3-7
July 3, 2004
The MSC Matrix attended the UNC Team Camp at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC from July 3-7. In addition to training with elite teams from across the country, the Matrix had the extraordinary opportunity to learn from professional, US National Team and collegiate coaches and players. The girls survived the grueling training and returned home better, tougher and smarter players.
Virginian 2004 Finalists
June 1, 2004
After shutting out and outscoring its four opponents 9-0 in the preliminary rounds, the Matrix fell short in a 2-0 loss in the finals of the Virginian Memorial Day tournament. Extraordinary defensive play, again, by the Matrix. Special recognition goes to Mary, the newest member of the Matrix family, for her overpowering play on both offense and defense.
MSC March Madness 2004 Champions!!!
March 28, 2004
Congratulations to the Matrix for winning the 2004 MSC March Madness Championship!! Finishing 4-0 and outscoring its opponents 15-2, the Matrix continued its impressive performance in tournament play. An outstanding defensive effort and spectacular midfield play allowed the Matrix to apply unrelenting pressure and pour in the goals. Special recognition goes to the newest members of the Matrix team, sweeper Katy and striker Caitlin, who played above and beyond all expectations.
In league and tournament play over the last year, the Matrix has compiled a 6-2-1 record against current Division 2 teams. With this tournament win, the Matrix has taken a huge step toward its goal of contending for the State Cup in 2005. Way to go Matrix!
