Crusaders Coming into 2009 with High Expectations

The Mayer Lutheran Crusaders ended last year with a most unusual finish. After finishing 3-15 during the season, the team finally put things together, winning 5-straight games and a trip to the Minnesota Class A State Baseball Tournament. They went two and out in the State Tourney, but picked up a nice dose of confidence to feed off of as they enter the 2009 season. Rank 12th in preseaon polls, the Crusaders will spend the season preparing for another tourney run, in the Minnesota River Conference, of which Mayer Lutheran is the only Class A school among 7 Class AA schools. Standing in their way for a return trip to state will be highly ranked St. Bernard's (5th), and Meadow Creek Christian (18th)
