The "UnClub"
The Manhattan Beach Sand & Surf Soccer Club in Manhattan Beach, California play competitive club soccer in the Coast Soccer League. The club is a unique soccer club which emphasizes Community, Balance and Development as its guiding principles. We are a lower cost, less time intensive alternative to the mega-clubs like the South Bay Force and South Bay Soccer Club.
We are comprised of players from the community and we pride ourselves in our community base. We emphasize team and individual player development over wins and losses. We are not constantly shuffling our roster every year as the other clubs often do. We believe the way to build a youth soccer team is through development, not by drop and recruit. Finally, we participate in one summer, spring and winter tournament each year, as well as State Cup, which is far less than the Mega-Clubs' program. We are flexible, and encourage players to participate in other sports, and have club basketball players and volleyball players on our team, as well as all-star softball players.
We are looking for serious and committed soccer players for our roster. We will take on up to 18 players on the roster for Spring League, and form our squad out of these players. This gives players a chance to experience competitive club soccer before making a commitment to joining the team for the entire year. We are an excellent choice for families who have stayed away from competitive soccer over a concern about the time commitments and high cost. However, we are only for the girl who is interested in playing soccer at a higher level and serious about improving her skills and playing at 110 percent for her team.
