Baseball

6u Tball Boys: Game can be played with 7 players, You DO NOT have to take an out if you have only 7 or 8 players. TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO BAT THEIR ENTIRE LINEUP AND PROVIDE EVERY PLAYER WITH A MINIMUM OF 1 COMPLETE INNING IN THE FIELD.

Time limit = 60 mins, Finish the batter or Innings = 5, Pitching Rubber = 40ft, Runs per half inning = 6, Bases = 60ft, 12' arc from back of home plate, Halfway marks between 1^st & 2^nd, 2^nd & 3rd, and 3^rd & home.

On offense 1 coach at home plate, 1 coach at 1st and 1 at 3rd - on defense 2 coaches in outfield grass (foul territory), cannot interfere with player - Penalty = removal from the game.

Only 3 practice swings fourth practice swing shall be called a strike. 1 team warning for throwing the bat, batters called out for next occurrence.

If base runner leaves base before ball is hit fairly, base runner is out (delayed dead ball). If ball is not hit fairly, base runner can return to previous base.

Catcher is required to wear a helmet with a mask, Pitcher is required to wear a mask. Play is stopped by preventing the lead runner from advancing.

Infield players must remain behind the halfway marks, Pitcher must stay in contact with the rubber, and outfielders must stay in the outfield grass until ball is hit. Penalty = dead ball, batter is awarded 1st base.

Fielder must throw the ball to have a chance to be awarded an out unless the ball is fielded near the base runner or base, this is a judgment call by the umpire. (delayed dead ball)

If the ball is fielded in within the 12 ft arc before the ball has come to a stop then the batter is awarded 1st base.

10 players are allowed in the field (4 outfielders), No infield fly rule, No intentional walks, no stealing

3 innings = complete game, Run rule= 15 after 3, 10 after 4, Charged conferences (D) = 3 per game, Charged conferences (O) = 1 per inning, Game CAN end in tie.

8u Boys Coach Pitch Rules: Game can be played with 7 players, You DO NOT have to take an out if you have only 7 or 8 players. TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO BAT THEIR ENTIRE LINEUP AND PROVIDE EVERY PLAYER WITH A MINIMUM OF 1 COMPLETE INNING IN THE FIELD.

Time limit = 75 mins, Finish the batter or Innings = 6, Pitching Rubber = 40ft, Runs per half inning = 6, Bases = 60ft, Pitching coach must be in contact with pitching rubber while delivering the pitch, Pitcher player must stay even with or behind pitching rubber until ball is put in play.

Batter gets 5 pitches or 3 swinging strikes. Batter cannot foul out, pitching coach must make an attempt to get out of field of play.

Bunting, slashing, stealing, and intentional walks are NOT allowed.

14u Boys Rules: Game can be played with 7 players, You DO NOT have to take an out if you have only 7 or 8 players. TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO BAT THEIR ENTIRE LINEUP AND PROVIDE EVERY PLAYER WITH A MINIMUM OF 1 COMPLETE INNING IN THE FIELD.

Time limit = 75 mins, Finish the batter or Innings = 7, Pitching Rubber = 54ft, Bases = 80ft or pitching rubber = 60ft, Bases = 90ft. Runs per half inning = 6. Pitchers are allowed 9 outs per week.

3 innings = complete game, Run rule=15 after 3, 10 after 4, Charged conferences (D) = 3 per game, Charged conferences (O) = 1 per inning, Game CAN end in tie.

 

Softball

Pitching circle = 16ft diameter circle, 10' arc from back of home plate, Halfway marks between 1^st & 2^nd, 2^nd & 3^rd, and 3^rd & home.

Player can advance on any live ball with the risk of being put out. 1 base on overthrows to 1^st base only.

8u Girls COACH Pitch Rules: Game can be played with 7 players, You DO NOT have to take an out if you have only 7 or 8 players. TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO BAT THEIR ENTIRE LINEUP AND PROVIDE EVERY PLAYER WITH A MINIMUM OF 1 COMPLETE INNING IN THE FIELD.

Time limit = 75 mins, Finish the inning or Innings = 6, Pitching Rubber = 35ft, Runs per half inning = 6, Bases = 60ft, 

Pitching circle = 16ft diameter circle, Coach must have at least 1 foot inside the circle. Pitcher must stay even with or behind rubber until ball is pitched.

Batter gets 5 pitches or 3 swinging strikes, Batter cannot foul out. Pitching coach must make an attempt to get out of field of play.

No bunting or stealing, slap hitting is allowed.

Catcher required full catching gear, Pitcher is required to wear a mask. Play is stopped by preventing the lead runner from advancing.

Infield players must remain behind the pitching half way marks and  pitcher  must stay even with or behind pitching rubber (inside the circle) until ball has left the coaches hand, and outfielders must stay in the outfield grass until ball is pitched. Penalty = dead ball, batter is awarded 1st base.

Fielder must throw the ball to have a chance to be awarded an out unless the ball is fielded near the base runner or base, this is a judgment call by the umpire. (delayed dead ball)

Infield fly rule is in effect. No drop 3^rd strike in regular games but drop 3^rd strike will be in effect in tournament play.

Pitchers MUST wear facemask.

Time limit = 75 mins, Finish the batter or Innings = 7, Pitching Rubber = 43ft, Runs per half inning = 6 Bases = 60ft. 

Pitching circle = 16ft diameter circle, Base runner is out for leaving the base before the ball has left the pitchers hand. 3rd strike drop and infield fly is in effect.

3 innings = complete game, Run rule=15 after 3, 10 after 4, Charged conferences (D) = 3 per game, Charged conferences (O) = 1 per inning, Game CAN end in tie.

 

Baseball Bats may not exceed the maximum of 2.75" diameter for league and tournament play.

Tee Ball can use official baseball/softball or official tee ball bats.

Any altered or damaged bat is not legal to use.

COED will use the level 5 safety ball.

Baseball 6u and up will use tournament grade baseballs

Softball 6u, 8u, and 10u will use 11" softballs. 12u and up will use 12" softballs.

 

ALL COACHES ARE REQUIRED TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK BEFORE PARTICIPATING.

MBSA will cover fees for head coach background checks.

MBSA is operated to provide a recreation to the youth of Mabank and the surrounding areas. The principle objective of MBSA is to provide for the youth of Mabank, the opportunity to have fun playing the sports of baseball and softball. Firmly adhering to the ideal of good sportsmanship shall be recognized as an integral aspect of attaining this objective. Exercise, health benefits and skill development are also objectives of the organization.
