MARYLAND WARRIORS BASEBALL CLUB
The Maryland Warriors Baseball Club was established as an independent, competitive travel baseball organization in late 2007 in suburban Maryland. We are sanctioned by the US Specialty Sports Association (USSSA), Nations Baseball, and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Based in Howard County, MD, the Warriors offer teams from 8 and Under (8U) through 14 and Under (14U) and currently compete in the Mid Atlantic Baseball Association (M.A.B.A.), Chesapeake Regional Amateur Baseball (C.R.A.B.), Major League Baseball (MLB) Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) leagues locally and competitive tournaments nationwide.

WARRIORS 10U CARDINAL - 2014 MARYLAND STATE TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to the Warriors 10U Cardinal squad on winning the 2014 Maryland State Invitational Tournament this past weekend! The Warriors went 5-1 overall and beat the Olney Pirates 10-6 in the Championship Game on Sunday afternoon to claim the State title. The team wasn't at full strength at any time during the tourney yet produced solid performances all weekend. The 10U Cardinal imrproved to 33-19-2 overall and will finish its 2014 Spring/Summer season in the Big Kahuna tournament at Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC this month. Great job, Warriors!

MARYLAND WARRIORS ON THE WARPATH AT 2014 "MUTINY IN THE PARK"

Congratulations to all of our Warriors teams who participated in the 2014 "Mutiny in the Park" Tournament held in Olney, MD (April 5/6 and 12/13 weekends). Our Warriors 13U and 10U Cardinal won the Championship for the 13U Open and 10U Divisions, respectively. Our 9U team won the 9U Consolation Bracket and our 10U Gold Team was a Finalist in the 10U Consolation Bracket. Warriors 8U, 11U and 12U came up short but it was a great showing by the Warriors for an Early April tourney over both weekends. --- Go Warriors!

Warriors 13U Manager, Fred Carmen, is ready to duel this Spring with his "New Look" Warriors Squad that is comprised of rising HS Freshman and 8th Graders from Prince Georges, Montgomery, and Howard County, MD. The 13U squad is set to square off in the Mid-Atlantic Baseball Association's 13U Division this spring and will rely heavily on the bats of Ben Lew, Anushka Fernando and Myles Johnson. Coach Fred's squad has shown a lot of potential and stated, "We're really looking forward to the start of the 2014 season in just a couple of weeks. We were able to identify some areas of need during the off season and have filled them with a couple of new additions to the Warriors family. The guys have put in the work during the winter months and I'm excited to see their hard work pay off!" Come out and see these guys square off against regional opponents this Spring --- Go Warriors!!!

WARRIORS 10U CARDINAL FINISHES 2ND IN SPRING STINGER TOURNEY

The Warriors 10U Cardinal squad finished 2nd in the First State Hornets Spring Stinger in Felton, DE this past weekend. The Warriors went 3-1-1 for the tournament while falling 10-7 to Gambrills High Heat in the Championship Game on Sunday afternoon. "We were never quite in sync the whole tournament but were glad to have the opportunity to play somewhere to get some more live reps in after finding out that the Annapolis Open had cancelled due to wet fields. Branden led us on the mound all tournament and Ben G. was really swinging the bat well all weekend. Thanks to the Hornets for putting on a good tourney in spite of the unpredictable weather."

WARRIORS 12U REACH SEMIS IN SPRING STINGER TOURNEY

The Warriors 12U squad played good ball overall last weekend at the First State Hornets Spring Stinger tourney in Felton, DE. The Warriors were led offensively by Zayed Delane who hit 2 bombs this weekend including a grand slam vs. Bell Impact in Pool Play on Saturday. Coaches Curtis Williams and Skip Baylor both believe that the 12 team took a big step forward this weekend and their best baseball is ahead of them. Good work, Warriors 12U!

The Maryland Warriors Season kicked off last weekend in Yorktown/Newport News, VA at the 5th Annual VA Beach Hurricanes Invitational Tournament. All Warriors teams made the trip from 8U-13U and got some good, early season work in. Hats off to coaches and parents for making this a successful trip for the boys!

WARRIORS WINTERFEST FUNDRAISER A HUGE SUCCESS!

The Maryland Warriors Inagural WinterFest Fundraiser Dinner was held this past Saturday Night at the DeMatha Catholic High School Antler Room in Hyattsville, MD. The event was a HUGE SUCCESS and with over 200 Warriors faithful in attendance, we were able to raise much needed funds to operate this coming season. Special thanks goes out to all who attended and especially DeMatha Head Coach, Sean O'Connor for hosting us, Athletic Director, Ed King, Guest Speaker, Joe Cook (DeMatha alum), Coaches Gerry Truman & Izzy Taylor, Warriors 8U Manager John & Lisa Beck for all of their work in getting the food arranged via Del Groso's, and all who donated silent and live auction items and team baskets --- there were some terrific pieces up for bid! Thanks also to 13U Parent, Scott Toves, who stepped up as our wonderful Chairperson for the Winter Fest and did a fantastic job coordinating amongst our teams. Thanks to event volunteers, Cindy Hall, Chantel Williams and John Wilson who helped keep us on track.

WARRIORS 12U SET TO PLAY IN MLB RBI LEAGUE

The Maryland Warriors 12U is set to play a season schedule in the Baltimore Orioles RBI League, sponsored by Major League Baseball, plus competitive tournaments this spring. The Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is a youth outreach program designed to promote interest in baseball, increase the self-esteem of disadvantaged children, and encourage kids to stay in school and stay off the streets. The program is a national Major League Baseball initiative administered and financially supported by the Orioles at a local level. Warriors 12U Manager, Curtis Williams, stated this week "this is going to be a wonderful opportunity for our kids to play competitively and develop their skills as they prepare for 90' high school baseball. Moreover, our kids will be able to compete against other RBI teams in diverse baseball enviroment." The 12U Warriors will also play in Louisville, KY in July in the Youth Baseball National Tournament.

WARRIORS 10U WIN MABA D2 CHAMPIONSHIP

Coach David Carmen and his 10U Warriors punctuated a dominating spring season in MABA D2 play by winning the regular season and the post season tournament by beating the Pasadena Eagles 18-6 in the championship game. Congrats Warriors!

Inclement Weather Policy
Information concerning playing conditions at fields will NOT be posted on this website. We advise that you call the appropriate inclement weather hotline number for the field you are scheduled to play on (if there is a hotline). Hotline numbers are listed below.

OBGC Community Park at Freeman Fields (301-260-9004)
Rockville - Dogwood Park Fields (240-314-5055)
If there is no hotline for the field you are scheduled to play on, it is the responsibility of the home team manager to check the field at least 4 hours in advance of game time and make a decision as to weather or not a game can be played on that field.
In the event of a cancellation (regardless of whether there is a hotline # or not), the home team manager must contact the following at least two hours before game time:
(1) Ray Taylor, Umpire Commissioner (240-463-9707) for 9u-14u, for 18uA/AA contact Don Mayer (301-848-1905 or 301-645-5291) and contact Al Battista (301-919-9007) for 18uAAA.
(2) Opposing team manager
(3) Home Team manager must post game as POSTPONED on this website (go to Game Results).
Note, even if a Regional Park with a hotline is closed, the home team manager MUST make contact with the above parties for any game scheduled that cannot be played.
