2014 Season Overview
We wanted to pass along an overview as to what to expect for the upcoming 2014 season. Please forward this information along to anyone you know who might be interested in signing their child up for Medford Pop Warner. ☆☆WE ARE ALSO PARTNERED WITH THE MEDFORD SEMI PRO FOOTBALL TEAM..MYSTIC RIVER TIGERS.... LEARN MORE ABOUT THE MEN REPRESENTING MEDFORD IN THE GRIDIRON AND MOLDING OUR FOOTBALL PLAYERS TO BE THE AMAZING. STUDENT ATHLETES THEY CAN BE AND SIGN THEM UP TODAY!!!!☆☆
$30.00 for all children for the 2014 season Pre-Season........ $50.00 after August 1st
3 mandatory fundraisers per player/cheerleader
August 10th and October 19th – canning for cheer
August 24th and October 5th – canning for football
September – saleable item (raffle ticket or calendar)
Option for the 3 in-season fundraisers only
You pay in advance to option out of participating
$50 per canning for August and/or October, $100 for raffle/calendar in September
Additional fundraising will be required if any team(s) advances into post-season football/cheer
Begin: August 4th at Carr Park
Time: approximately 5:30-7:30 (subject to change – depends on coach)
10 hours of practice per week until Labor Day
6 hours of practice per week post Labor Day until season’s end
**Practice days are determined by the coach. E and F squads may have less practice times. Cheerleading practice moves in September**
MPW Provides Uniforms:
Football – Helmet, shoulder pads, game jerseys/pants and practice jersey and pants
Cheer – uniform skirt, shell and bow
Parent/Guardian Uniform Responsibilities:
Football – cleats, socks, girdle, and 7 pieces pant pad set
Cheer – sneakers, socks, lollipop pants and bodysuit (For E and F teams only)
Every Sunday beginning the Sunday after Labor Day until the end of October unless your team makes playoffs
Time for each game to be determined
Home games are played @ TBD
Away games played at TBD
Teams A through D participate in cheerleading competitions
Teams advance from one level to the next if successful in placement
Leagues: Saturday in early October
New England Finals: mid-November (dates TBD)
Nationals: Disney World, Orlando, Florida – early December (dates TBD)
Mitey Mites (E Team) exhibit at league competition in early October
Tiny Mites (F Team) may be invited to exhibit for Conference competition in October
2014 Registration Dates
Registration dates are as follows: EVERYDAY AT CARR PARK FROM 5:30 TO 6:30 UNTIL SEPT 1ST...FEE IS $50.00 TO REGISTER ONCE THE SEASON HAS BEGUN. PRACTICES BEGIN MONDAY AUGUST 4TH AT CARR PARK ATOP FULTON ST. (MEDFORD HEIGHTS) MPW is always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in joining our family as a Cheerleading or Football coach, or other volunteer staff positions please feel free to contactt us at 617-650-6209.

Medford Cheerleader being Recognized for her Scholastic Achievement!
CONGRATULATIONS TO QIAN (JENNY) LU FOR BEING RECOGNIZED ON THE NEW ENGLAND LITTLE WSCHOLARS SCHOLASTICS FIRST TEAM!
The scholastic achievement recognition program nationaly recognizes those participants who achieved a 96% grade point average or better during the school year. We are happy to announce that Jenny made first team which is the highest scores within the New England Region. Jenny has been invited to attend the 54th Annual National Pop Warner Scholastics Banquet in May.
Please help us in congratulating Jenny on a job well done during the 2012-2013 school year!! Congratulations Jenny, the MPW Family is very proud of you!!
