EMU vs MSU
Eastern Michigan plays Michigan State at EMU Sept 20. It is unique because we have Alumni on both teams. The game starts at 1:00 PM, and there is no charge to attend. The directions to the field are on this site. Paige Sheridan (EMU) is still wearing #15 and Jordan Mueller (MSU) still wears #19. Good Luck to both!
Weight Lifting & Pick up Games
August 10, 2009
Weight lifting and pick up games have ended for the Summer weight lifting will be avalible with Field Hockey starting Aug 17. Time to be announced.
Famrington Camp
Thanks to all the Mercy Players that ran the Farminton Soccer Camp. The attendance was great with over 100 kids showing up. Special thanks to the Alumni that returned to help out.
Down Week
June 28, 2009
Reminder that our down week is June 28th to July 4th so no weightlifting this week.
The first game of districts will be against the winner of Groves/West Bloomfield. It will be away at Groves or West Bloomfield. The winner of that game will play Saturday at North Farmington at 12:30.
Mercy vs Riverview Richard 4-2 May 19, 2009
Mercy celebrated senior/parent day with a win against Riverview Gabriel Richard. The first goal of the game took place 15 minutes in when defender Deeidre Ratliff headed in a goal off a Jordan Mueller corner kick. It is said the next 5 minutes is prime time for a goal and Richard proved that to be true scoring the equalizer 4 minutes later. It was 1-1 at the half. Again about 15 minutes in, the first goal of the half was scored when Gabie Jones sent a cross ball to Jordan Mueller who headed it and it hit the crossbar, bounced back in play and Jordan knocked it in the goal. Richard again scored the equalizer with under 15 minutes remaining in the game. The go ahead goal was scored by Mueller when she received a throw in, carried it up the line and hit a long ball into the net. The insurance goal was scored by April Messick on a free kick sealing the Mercy victory.
Nicole Gaudino made 7 saves earning the "W".
The underclassmen did a nice job showing their appreciation for the seniors. Cars were decorated, signs were displayed, Coach presented flowers to the seniors who then presented flowers to their parents.

Marian 4 Mercy 0 CHSL Semi Finals 5/13/09
Mercy lost a hard fought battle with Marian. Marian scored a couple of very early goals that gave them momentum. Mercy never gave up, congrats Marlins.

Mercy 2 Ann Arbor Richard 1 CHSL quarter finals
Mercy was rested and prepared to win this CHSL quarter final game in Ann Arbor. Last match up Richard was on the receiving end of a well fought battle with a 2-1 result. This game was controlled by Mercy in both halves. Richard got on board first when they scored on a cross ball with under 16 minutes in the half remaining. Fortunatley the half didn't end without a Mercy Weber to Weber goal. Freshman Elaina Weber beat a defender and passed the ball to junior Kara Weber who first timed it into the goal from about the 18-20 with under 6 minutes to go. 1-1 at the half.
The second half Mercy defense manned by Ratliff, Risk and Raymond plus, continued their strong play keeping Richard offense out of their territory. April Messick was poised and maintained control in the mifield. Kara was tirelss, Caitlin Williams never gave up, Weber,Gabi, Makenzie and the other mids were first to the ball. Mueller rallied the second half playing on a sprain foot, Cassidee was aggessive and determined, Racinksi fought hard to keep the ball in the final third and it goes on and on for a complete team effort for the victory. The Mercy game winner came with just about 25 minutes left in the game when Kirstie Racinski passed a ball to Jordan who took a touch and fought to get the shot off at the 20 to 25. Game! 2-1 Mercy
The star among the Marlin stars was Nicole Gaudino who made 9 saves to earn the win and the "top performer" in the oakland Press.
Next game vs Marian in the semi finals at Marian High School Wed May 13th at 5:30PM with the JV at 4:00PM , the team would love your support!!!

Mercy 2 vs. Ladywood 2 5/5/09
Mercy played their 4th game in 5 nights which proved to take its toll on them. Mercy was hoping for a win to gain the 2nd seed for chsl playoffs. Mercy was held scoreless at the half. Ladywood scored with 15 minutes remaining in the first half. Second half Mercy goals were scored by Cassidee Downs and Jordan Mueller but with 12 minutes remaining Ladywood tied it up locking up the second seed. Mercy registers for the 3rd seed.
Nicole Gaudino made 8 saves for the tie.

Mercy 4 Regina 1 May 4, 2009
This was a make-up game postponed due to bad weather. Mercy came out determined to win, particulary since they felt like they lost their last match up even though it was in fact a tie. The game was played at Regina. A few minutes into the game Jordan Mueller scored on a free kick. Before the half was over Regina scored the equalizer on a penalty kick making it a 1-1 tie at the half. Second half goals scored by April Messick off a Jordan Mueller corner kick, Elaina Weber scored on a Mueller free kick andthe final goal of the game was scored by Mueller on a pass from Messick.
Mercy Keeper Nicole Gaudino had 5 saves to earn the win.
Mueller earned "Athlete of the "week" in the Oakland Press as a result of this game.

Mercy 0 vs Marian 2 May 2, 2009
Mercy played very well against the number 1 ranked team in Divison 2. Mercy defense was strong. It was a hard fought game. Mercy kept Marian to two goals both scored off set pieces. First off a penalty kick and the other off a corner kick. Mercy had good scoring chances.

Mercy 3 vs. Regina 3 May 1,2009
Due to heavy rains Regina played Mercy at Total Soccer in Wixom on turf field. Mercy outplayed Regina but the end result was a tie. Mercy Goal Scorers the first half were Jordan Mueller and Kirstie Racinski. Second half goal was scored by Cassidee Downs.

Mercy 0 Bishop Foley 1 4/27/09
Mercy played at Bishop Foley and although Mercy appeared to be the better team, Foley scored 2 minutes into the game. Foley had a throw in down near their goal and capitalized on it. This might be the one that got away.

Mercy vs. Divine Child 4/24/09 W 5-0
Mercy beat Divine child at home on a beautiful sunny friday afternoon.
Kara Weber and Cassidee Downs scored two goals each, Jordan Mueller scored a goal and had two assists. Taylor Raymond and Danielle Monette each had an assist. Everyone contributed to the victory; it was a team effort. Caitlin Williams worked hard and made some good things happen. Kirstie Racinski and Whitney Morey showed their versatility by playing well at different positions. Mercy's determination to win resulted in the first shutout shared by goalkeepers Nicole Gaudino and Shannon O'Leary.

Mercy vs. Ladywood W 2-1
In Livonia, Farmington Hills Mercy put forth a true team effort and overcame the Blazers. Ladywood got on the board first by scoring off a free kick in the first half. Early in the second half Kirstie Racinski split 2 defenders with a through ball to Jordan Mueller who outran two defenders and slipped it past the goal keeper scoring the equalizer. Then shortly after, amidst scrambling in the box Makenzie Williams slotted a ball to Freshman Elaina Weber at the 6 yd line; she one timed it and scored her first varsity goal. Lots of energy from Kara Weber and the midfielders getting first to the ball was key to the victory. It's always nice to beat Ladywood.
Goal Keeper Nicole Gaudino earned the win and made 5 saves.

CHSL 1-3, Catholic League Central division 1-1.
Mercy vs. Marian 4/22/09 L 5-1
After being off soccer for over 2 weeks due to weather, spring break and... weather, Mercy played Marian in a home game at Farmington High School. Marian lead 2-0 at the half. Final score was 5-1. Deidre Ratliff scored off a Jordan Mueller free kick. Keeper Nicole Gaudino had lots of action making 25 saves.

Tough loss to Marian this evening but our players must pull themselves together for more competition tomorrow when Mercy plays Ladywood! Varsity players...come ready to play. Thank you to Andrea Williams, MacKenzies's Mom, for providing the pre-game dinner for the team tonight.
You may have noticed that Kim McGill, Kelsey's Mom, has been taking photos at the varsity games. She has posted her pictures on her website and made them available to all. The photos may be downloaded or printed and there is no charge for downloading. Since they have not used the website printing service, they are unsure of the cost or quality. Mercy vs. Notre Dame Prep 4/2/09 L 4-0
Mercy suffered a tough loss in Pontiac. NDP took quite a few shots the first half but only two were on goal. Although Mercy didn't have as many opportunties, Elaina Weber, Cassidee Downs and April Messick each shot on goal. Defenders Rachel Harrison and Taylor Raymond both blocked a shot that was headed for the goal. The score was 0-0 at the half.
The second half NDP scored off a free kick resulting from a hand ball. It was a controversial goal as it appeard the player was off sides. Maggie Raftery attempted a hard long shot on goal but it was saved by the keeper. NDP had momentum and continued to attack scoring 3 more goals. Nicole Gaudio made 4 serves.

Mercy vs. Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 3/31/09 L 2-1
Mercy visited Gabriel Richard in a Catholic League cross over game on yet another gray cold windy day. Mercy scored early in the first half when Jordan Mueller sent a bent ball near post assisted by senior Caitlin Williams. However 10 minutes remaining in the half Richard scored the equalizer off a free kick. Mercy had a good first half. Shots on goal were taken by Cassidee Downs, Kara Weber and Gabbi Jones. Defense by Ratliff, Raymond, Risk and freshman Rachel Harrison was solid.
The second half appeared to be a different game. With 15 minutes remaining in the game Richard was able to score the winning goal.
Keeper Nicole Gaudino made 5 saves.

Mercy vs. West Bloomfield 3/28/09 W 3-1
On yet another cold cloudy day Mercy outplayed the home team West Bloomfield. Less than 15 minutes into the game Mercy sophomore Cassidee Downs scored on a long ball from senior defender Deidre Ratliff. Jordan Mueller added the second goal on a rebound when the keeper deflected senior Caitlin William's shot. Offensively Mercy had West Bloomfield on their heals as Kara Weber, Kirsti Racinski, Elena Weber and April Messick all took shots on goal the first half.
The second half West Bloomfield came out attacking and got on the scoreboard first but Mercy came back with Mueller scoring the final goal of the game with 22 minutes remaining.
The win was shared by freshman keeper Nicole Gaudino and junior Shannon O'Leary combining to make 12 saves.

Mercy vs. Dearborn 3/26/09 W 3-1
On a windy, cool overcast day in Farmington Hills, Mercy opened high school soccer season on a positive note. Mercy jumped out to an early 3-0 victory over visiting Dearborn in a non league game. Senior Jordan Mueller scored the first goal of the season 4 minutes into the half on an an assist from sophomore Kirsti Racinski. Freshman Makenzi Williams scored what proved to be the winning goaland her first varsity goal with less than 14 minutes left in the half. The third goal of the half was scored by Mueller assisted by Williams. April Messick did a great job controlling the midfield.
The defense and goal keeping was outstanding, particularly in the second half as Mercy played against the wind. Deidre Ratliff, Kelsey Risk and Taylor Raymond all had a strong game. Freshman goal keeper Nicole Gaudino mader her Varsity debut making 5 saves and recording her first "W". The pioneers averted a shut out midway into the second half. The final score Mercy 3 Dearborn 1.

Marian Games have been moved to Farmington High School from Tuesday to Wendesday. JV game at 5:30PM and Varsity game at 7:00PM Practice for the Varsity and JV if avalible will be in the gym at Mercy at 6:00 PM to 7:00PM.

Soccer at Harrison Wednesday 3/11/09
All Freshman be ready to play at 6:00PM your night ends at 7:15.
Captain(s) be there at 6:00 PM.
Juniors please be ready to play at 6:20 PM your night ends at 7:30 or dark which ever is later.
All others be there at 6:45 PM practice runs untill 7:30 or dark which ever is later.
Pre Season Meeting
Parents there will be a meeting on March 4th to discuss try-outs and the upcoming season. It will be from 6 to 8 pm in the cafeteria at Mercy.
Mercy Spring Sports Check In
It is mandatory that you check in with the Athletic Department on March 5th in the gym to confirm you are eligible to play spring sports.
At the winter meeting is was discussed that weight lifing will resume the Tuesday after finals and will be Tuesday and Thursday. Any other activities e-mail Coach or Mr Ratliff
