WEEK 2 in the MIFL ... Verrrrry Innnnteresting!
March 24, 2013
Seems that there may be some parity bubbling up to the surface after Week Two of the 2013 MIFL Season! With just 20% of the season in the books, it looks like it WILL be a slug-fest for the 4 Playoff Spots, as all the teams seem to be SOLID.
IN GAME #1: The Delmarva BAYRIDERS travelled to The Lighthouse Center in PHI to play the Kensington JOKERZ. Seems that they were keyed and fired for a good game, as were the JOKERZ. The Bayriders are a good & improving team, and so are the Jokerz!
This was a good match-up that featured a good game which resulted in a CLOSEscore!
The FINAL: BAYRIDERS (1-1) 26 - JOKERZ (0-2) 24
IN GAME #2: The Bucks County BRONCOS were the visiting team as they took the short trip down I-95 to meet up with The North Philly HURRICANES. Here again, two good teams duked it out all game. And, as happens, one team ended up pulling ahead in the end.
Here, too, neither of these teams will want to sit out the post-season and both have the ability to be in the thick of it.
The FINAL: BRONCOS (1-0) 36 - HURRICANES (1-1) 6
This coming weekend is the EASTER MIFL League-Wide "Bye" ... NO MIFL Games. Enjoy the Off Time.
And, REMEMBER: ALL MATCHING UNIFORMS (Helmets, Jerseys & Pants) from Week 3 (April 6th) on for ALL PLAYERS.
He who does NOT match 100% of those 3 items DOES NOT PLAY until/unless he does. PERIOD.
2013 MIFL "KICKOFF SATURDAY" ... Put it in the books!
March 17, 2013
MIFL 2013 ... Week #1 is HISTORY.
After some bumps, burps, and "Opening Day Jitters," the results are in!
No. Philly HURRICANES 30 ... DelMarva BAYRIDERS 24
Steel City STAMPEDE 33 ... Kensington JOKERZ 12
Bucks County BRONCOS ... -BYE-
And, the great news is that, along with NO major injuries, neither of the games was a one-sided blow-out! Just a 6-point differential down in DelMar MD., and up to about 3-4 minutes to go, it was a ONE-SCORE Game in Bethlehem!
Once again, the MIFL is all about positive growth and forward movement EVERY DAY ... EVERY WEEK!
We will ALL work to maintain a level of professionalism AT ALL TIMES and IN ALL PLACES & CIRCUMSTANCES. Is The MIFL perfect? No. Nothing is. But, by going after perfection, with no let-up, we will all be in a position to catch greatness...to achieve excellence. And, that's what it's all about. Up next: WEEK #2!
MIFL "-BYE-" weeks O P E N / A V A I L B L E ... for Non-League Games
March 7, 2013
The official word just came from the PennOhio League's WESTERN PA WILDCATZ that they are not able to participate in an anticipated "One & One" Non-League game scenario during our season. (One at THEIR place and One game at one of OUR Teams' home field)
WILDCATZ owner, John Reay, and MIFL Commissioner John Theillon had been efforting on a way to make this happen. The latest development is that as of March 6th, the 'CATZ will be part of a Spring/Summer Outdoor league and, as a result, will not be available during the MIFL Regular Season (3/16 - 6/1).
With that in mind, should any "-BYE-" week opportunities arise for a Non-League game, please contact either MIFL Commissioner (John Theillon) or MIFL President (Rio Prisco) at once. At that point, plans can be solidified FOR such a game, should the logistics be workable.
ANY/ALL SUCH "-BYE-" WEEK GAME OPPORTUNITIES MUST ... MUST ... MUST BE CLEARED THROUGH THE MIFL COMMISSIONER'S OFFICE BEFORE BEING SCHEDULED OR PLAYED.
EXAMPLE: In liew of a BYE, the Bucks County BRONCOS are playing a Non-League Game in Week #1 at the Maryland PITBULLS.
With any questions OR any/all possible Non-League Game Opportunities, you can contact the MIFL Commissioner's Office any of the following ways:

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...HUGE NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR THE PFL/6!
December 27, 2005 – 08:15 AM
(Dec., 2012)
Back in late 2005, after the first-EVER season of (then) 6-Man Semi-Pro Football, in PA, people started taking serious notice of this "new" brand of Full-Contact, Minor League, Semi-Pro Football!
Earlier in 2005, there were jeers, sneers, chuckles and smart remarks like, "Let me know when you guys play some REAL football...then we'll talk." As it all played out, many of these same "critics" became fans, friends and....Players, Coaches and Team Owners!
And..........that's how it all began.
FACT: If it weren't for the PFL/6 blazing a trail back in '05, there'd be NO M.I.F.L. today!
With that, here is one of the First-EVER Website Posts from the (then) PFL/6 as it gained NATIONAL RECOGNITION! Enjoy!
