Some of may have noticed the initials DGW on the back of the Burlington hats. This is in honor of former Burlington and Milton educator DG Weaver who recently passed away. DG was an outstanding teacher, coach, athletic director and principle at both MIlton and Burlington high school's. He was the driving force behind Burlington's beautiful new track and football/soccer field. DG was also the person who first hired me to coach baseball way back in 1987. I will forever be grateful to him for giving me that first opportunity all those years ago. I am also very grateful that the Burlington team has dedicated their season to DG. It is a very nice and classy gesture by Coach Perry Bove and his players.

                                             Nick Adenhart 1986-2009

The Milton Yellowjackets would like to express heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart who was one of three people killed in a horrific car accident early Thursday morning. The man accused of causing the accident has a history of drinking and driving and there are indications that his blood alcohol content was above the legal limit. By all accounts Adenhart seems to have been a good guy who paid with his life for someone elses' stupidity. When will people learn that irresponsible behavior has awful consequences? Rest in peace Nick

Update: Andrew Gallo the man who allegedly killed Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart and Henry Pearson and left another man, Jon Wilhite in critical condition, has been charged with three counts of murder. Gallo's blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit at the time of the accident. It is of little solace to the three families who have lost their loved ones, but I commend the officials in Orange County for their quick and decisive action. If proved guilty here's hoping Gallo gets the maximun sentence allowed by law.
