    Player/Parent meeting - January 28th 6:30pm
    Softball Families:
    There is a mandatory registration meeting for players and parents January 28th at 6:30pm in the Miramonte library.

    Coach Roger Jost looks forward to getting our 2010 season off and running. We are excited to welcome all of our new and returning players who have signed up this year. With close to 30 signups, we look forward to a successful JV and Varsity season. If you know someone who has expressed an interest in playing, but missed the sign up dates, please invite them to come to the meeting. Feel free to pass this email on.

    New and returning players and parents should plan to attend. At least one parent per player should attend.

    District Forms & Sports Clearance
    If you did not play a fall or winter sport, please make sure you have complete all 4 of the required district forms and submit them to Coach Dell’Aquila during brunch or lunch. Also, be sure to pay the $260 district athletic fee through the registration link on the web store.

    Coach Jost will go over the following:
    • Softball handbook
    • Practice & game schedule
    • Practice & game schedule during spring break
    • Tryout process and schedule – tryouts begin Feb. 8th
    • Team selection process
    • Team expectation
    • Equipment needed to tryout & play
    • Required practice gear
    • Transportation to and from games
    • Parent Volunteer jobs
    • Team fees
    • Field Prep day – February 6th @ 9:30am
    • OYA Varsity clinic – April 15th
    • End of season party – May 27 at Orinda Country Club 6:00pm-9:00pm

    Order and pay for the following items:
    • Practice gear (required for all players)– $27.00 (includes: t-shirt & shorts)
    • Visors (required for new players & lost) – $20.00.
    • Team socks – $15.00 required by everyone (not the same as previous years)
    • Tournament fees - $40.00 required for Varsity & JV tournament
    • Booster Basket - $12 per player

    All fees will be posted online and paid through the webstore. If you prefer to pay by check, please bring your checkbook to the meeting, as this will be the only chance to order the required practice gear.

    Team captains - Morgan Marlow, Kristine Miller & Juliann Vanni will be available to answer any questions.

    2010 Softball Announcements
    January 2, 2010

    Welcome to the 2010 Softball season!

    It is that time of year... February 8th is right around the corner and that means the softball ball season is about to begin.

    INFORMATION/DATES.

    Tryouts/Evaluations are Monday, February 8th.
    ALL PLAYERS TO REPORT TO THE SOFTBALL FIELD AT 3:30PM.

    Players will need to print and complete the forms found on the Acalanes School District Site: www.acalanes.k12.ca.us/forms/, submit them to Coach Dell and get your name added to the tryout roster. If you name is NOT on the roster you WILL NOT be able to tryout. NO EXEPTIONS - Please have the following to Coach Dell no later than Feb. 6th:

    ***Clearance through the Athletic Director -
    - Athletic Clearance
    - Student Athlete Agreement
    - Athlete Ejection Policy
    - Volunteer Auto Use
    - District athletic sports participation fee
    - Bring receipt-showing payment

    Please get those to Coach Del ASAP.

    *If you are playing a Spring Sport, All participants must turn in
    Athletic Clearance forms by Feb. 6th to coach Dell and pay the Spring Sports participation fees on the Web Store. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO TRYOUT UNTIL ALL FORMS HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED IN ADVANCE TO COACH DELL – TURN IN FORMS EARLY

    Go to: www.acalanes.k12.ca.us/forms/ under "Athletic Forms" and download the following forms: Conditions of participation for student athletes; athletic clearance; rules and regulations for athletes; and athletic ejection policy notification form (North Coast Ejection Policy).

    If a player is already participating in a winter sport, the player needs to advise Coach Dell to switch the "paper work" from the "winter sport" folder to the "spring sport" folder.

    -The SPRING district athletic sports participation fee of $260.00 needs to be paid through the Miramonte webstore


    Softball Spirit Fee - This will also get posted on the site. We are striving to keep this fee to a minimum. However, each player will be required to purchase a set of Miramonte Softball Practice Gear.
