The Mustangs travel up to Harbor Creek to take on Mercyhurst Prep in round one of the playoffs this Friday. Make sure you are there to SCREAM our boys on to the next round. And boys remember........

As many of you know, we HAVE to win this week to make it into the first round of playoffs. The boys really need to HEAR us this week down on the field. The louder we are the more excited they get. So bring the noise to get these guys were they deserve to be!!!!

All Varsity and JV Football Players please return your TV raffle ticket sales money on 11-6-09 to a touchdown Club member before you board the bus for the Lakeview Game. JH to return theirs 11-5-09 after practice.
Any unsold tickets must also be returned at those times. Remember this raffle is to benefit you and the team so we ask each family to do their best to sell all 10 of the tickets passed out.

Mercer Midget Football would like to thank all the coaches and administraton for all there help and support of the Mercer Midget Football program. Allowing the kids a chance to play and practice on the field. To see varsity coaches and players on the sideline of home and away games meant alot to me personally. Shows not only a love of the game but the commitment and desire to see these young players succeed and to one day coach them on friday nights.
We wish the varsity players and coaches continued success this season.

Hello all –
I just wanted to send the varsity team a “note of thanks!” When your team and coaches came over to the Midget practice, that brought soooo many smiles to the faces of the kids! THANK YOU for taking the time to cheer on the little guys. As a parent who happened to be there when the boys played against each other tonight, I want to let you know that small actions like that mean a lot to the younger kids. Please tell the other coaches and kids that the Midget parents & kids really appreciate that attention you gave the “little guys”. J Thanks again!

Come and join the Homecoming Parade!!! Any group that wishes to participate please be at the Methodist Church parking lot no later than 6pm on October 7th. The parade is set to begin at 6:30. Parade route is straight down Butler St. to the High School where there will be a pep rally following. This year’s theme is HOLLYWOOD.

We still need volunteers to help with the Junior High Concession this Wednesday night. The game is at 5pm and need volunteers to arrive at 4:15. Karen Handerhan has agreed to purchase the items needed for the concessions and help organize concessions (again no one else would). We need volunteers to set up, sell, and clean up at the home games. After going to a few games that didn't have concessions, it made me realize how nice it is to have a concession stand even if we only sold drinks and candy! Hopefully we will have enough volunteers to keep it going.

 Varsity Scrimmages

At the beginning of Varsity camp and regular practice for Jr. High, the Mustang Touchdown Club will be sending home Market Day order forms with the players. Please take a moment to look through the order form. Each month there were be new specials and promotions available. Orders can be placed on-line or by calling the phone number listed on the back. On-line orders can be either paid for at the time of placing the order or at the time of picking up the order. Orders will be available for pick up the first Tuesday of every month between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the Mercer High School Cafeteria. When picking up your order, please tell the Market Day representative that you are a football parent/family. This will ensure that your order will benefit the Touchdown Club. This is an extremely easy fundraiser for the Football Program that requires minimal effort while you as a parent or family member benefit from great tasting products.
Parent Meeting Thursday July 30th at 6:00 in the bleachers. Trust me, your son will thank you for being there.........

Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 6-8pm
~~Helmets and shoulder pads will be handed out during summer work outs based on attendance. Remaining equipment will be given out Monday August 10th and Wednesday August 12
~~August 15th Car Wash Competition for Varsity Players.....Freshman/Sophomores vs Junior/Seniors. Winners get a pizza and wing party.
~~2 A Day Camp starts August 17th.
Time is 7:30 am-3:30pm
~~Attendance to all games and practices are MANDATORY unless prior permission has been given by Coach McClearn or Coach Piddington (during school). Unexcused absences will affect playing time (Varsity and/or JV).
