The Monroe Blazers are one of the oldest fastpitch softball teams in the Rochester area. The Monroe Blazers were started in 1995 by Bob Nevil, John Symkanich and Jim Willoth. The first year there were two teams a 16U and 18U team. 20 years later, there over a thousand girls that have played in the Blazer uniform. Today, we have teams from 12U to 23U.
A champion is someone who does not settle for that day’s practice, that day’s competition, that day’s performance. They are always striving to be better.
We all know that the reduction to 20 High School games allowed in New York State diminishes the playing time and opportunity to grow for many players. The more you play the better you get and the best way to get better is to play with and against players that are better than you. The Monroe Blazers have been a quality organization since 1995. We strive to improve the play of the team with hard work and attention to detail and practice throughout the year. Many of our players go on to play in College, but our organization realizes that our players will not go on to play softball for a career. We also want teach player and human development with a desire to be competitive.
