Monday June 29th, 2009
Well I can't believe another year has come and gone. I guess when
they say time flies when your having fun they are right. It's been
a very eventful year to say the least. I knew we would be better in
2009, but I never imagined we would have an 8-6 league record. Including
tournaments we won over 10 games this year. This year we beat every
team in our league at least once. And more than half the games we
lost were by 1 run. Plus we took home a 1st place trophy to boot.
Great job guys and I would like to give a big thank you to
Joseph who gave us enough players keep us in the running.
Also, thanks to Chase who even though he wasn't an official
teammate, he was always a Cobra even if he wasn't on our
team roster. 2010 should even be better.

Saturday March 14th, 2009
Well we played in our 1st tournament for the year and we looked
really good. In the 1st game against the Wicked, we won 16 - 1
and we played lights out. The 2nd game we had a few errors in
throwing and catching and came up short. We let the Phillies
get 7 runs in the 1st inning that hurt us. We held them to only
3 more runs in the next 2 innings. Our pitchers and catchers
even tagged out runners trying to steal home. Wow, we almost
never did that at all last year. Our pitchers are coming along
fine. Good job today Mikey, Tyler, Michael, Coby and Mark.
Your hard work is paying off. Good luck on Sunday and come home
with a trophy.

Friday January 24th, 2009
This evening we went to Game Time Academy Batting Cages
on Shields and for our 1st time hit fairly well. It took
a few pitches for everyone to get their timing down
hitting 54 mph pitches. We also met our newest player
Aric Hughes. Welcome to the team Aric.
The other coaches might disagree but I think Jacob, Tyler
and Michael hit the most consistant. But everyone else
got it going once they got their timing down.
Good job guys. We will probably go to batting cages once
or twice a week until we can get outside and hit on our
practive field.
** GET OUTSIDE WHENEVER POSSIBLE AND PLAY CATCH **
We need to strengthen our our arms for throwing.

Thursday January 22nd, 2009
We got to get outside for a bit today and loosen up
our arms. Everyone looked good and practice went well.
Mark is going to fit in well with the team and I have
high hopes for the season. I will have a handout to
give everyone Sunday that will give dates when I need
league fees and player contracts.

Sunday January 11th, 2009
We had a good practice with Coach Hinckley today.
Everyone needs to practice DAILY what they were
told that they needed to work on. We will meet
again Sunday the 18th at 2pm. If the weather is
decent, get there early and play catch outside
until it's time to go inside.
Coach Hinckley gives private instruction in
batting, pitching and fielding. If anyone is
interested, let me know and I can get you his
contact information.
Good job today guys, keep it up.

Hi Parents and Players...
Everyone is coming back except for Gibson so we picked
up a new player that is new to the area. His name is
Mark and he goes to school with Mikey, Chase, Tyler
and a few other boys at Kingsgate.
Coach Bernie and I will be calling everyone Tuesday
evening about our 1st batting practice at Moore High
School. We will have batting practice every Sunday
starting January 11th. We will continue to meet every
Sunday until the middle of February. Hopefully we can
get outside by then and start some field practice.
Sunday was the only day that Coach Hinckley is available
for team practice. We will inform everyone when we call
on the details and the cost.
Chris, Bernie and Mike Smith all are coming
back this year!!! Yea!!

2008 Cobras
I could not be more proud of you guys. When we started this year we had a bunch of inexperienced boys who didn't know much about how to play baseball. I have seen each and everyone of you grow by leaps and bounds and become good baseball players. Some of you guys couldn't catch a baseball and now you can run down fly ball in the outrfield. I meant what I said about the other team coaches saying you had all come a long way from the start of the season.
AND NEXT YEAR YOU GUYS ARE GONNA BE EVEN BETTER.
All of you coaches are very proud of you.
