2009 Tryout Schedule
Tryouts will be held at the Piscataway High School, Patton (9/10) building gymnasium. Enter via Door #3. Players must attend at least one of the three sessions in order to be eligible for participation. Please enter through the rear of the building. All participants must wear shorts or sweatpants to the clinic. Please do not bring basketballs or valuables. Jewelry is not permitted. The Recreation Department is not responsible for lost property.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30, THURSDAY, & FRIDAY DECEMBER 3 & 4, 2009
6th graders are to report at 6:00 p.m.
7th graders are to report at 7:00 p.m.
8th graders are to report at 8:00 p.m.
Participants in the Piscataway Recreation sponsored events do so at their own risk and accept full responsibility for all their actions and injuries incurred by their participation. Prior to submitting a claim to the Township, injured parties must first use their own medical/accident insurance as their primary coverage. The insurance offered by Piscataway Township is supplemental and secondary only. If a claim qualifies for consideration, the Township insurance is limited to a maximum payout of no more than $5,000.00 per accident.
It is now mandatory in New Jersey for all school aged youth that wear corrective eyewear while participating in recreation programs and activities to wear “Protective Eyewear” that meets (ASTM) American Society for Testing and Materials standards for frames, and (ANSI) American National Standards Institute standards for lenses.
Contribute to the Jeff Fox Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Jeff Fox Memorial Scholarship Fund is designed to create a scholarship fund to:
• Memorialize Jeff Fox; his character and being as well as his volunteer spirit and his many contributions to our community and its youth, especially through his involvement in the Piscataway Recreation Middle School Basketball League and Pop Warner football program.
• Award two annual scholarships in Jeff’s memory to two deserving graduating seniors at Piscataway High School. The scholarships, which will be awarded at the PHS Senior Awards Night program, will be given to a graduating football player who played Pop Warner and a graduating basketball player, whether a boy or girl, who played Middle School basketball. The recipients will be chosen by the PHS football and basketball coaches.
Our ultimate goal is to raise enough money to allow the fund to eventually be self-sustaining through interest earnings and dividends as well as future contributions.
We need everyones assistance to generate initial ‘seed’ money for the scholarship fund. Please consider making a donation in support of this very worthy endeavor. No contribution is too small or too large. All donations will be tax deductible once the fund obtains a tax exempt ID number.
