Pre-season Meeting
Our Middle Grades Soccer Program will be beginning soon. Our Fall season will focus on our students skill development. The two week intramural practices will follow a skill development checklist so all of our athletes will be getting coached on the same skills. At the conclusion of the two weeks the most qualified 3-5 students per school will meet as a team regionally to compete in a skills challenge. The teams that win the regional contests will then travel to our Starfinder site in Manayunk for our Public League Starfinder Skills Challenge on November 22nd from 3-5.
Again I want to encourage coaches to reach out to principals to see if there is E.C money available from their school to supplement their soccer program. Our two week program will begin October 31st and end November 11th. Our regional competitions will take place the following week on November 16th with the final competition taking place on November 22nd. The Athletic Department will provide two weeks of Extra Curricular money (Maximum of 10 hours for Intramural skills training) Please understand that E.C money from the Athletic Department will only be provided to teams that were included in our 2010 season. The number and location of regional competitions will depend on the number of participating schools.
I will be hosting a meeting at Roberto Clemente Promise Academy to discuss details about our program. We will discuss our skills checklist, competitions and spring soccer possibilities. The meeting will be held on October 11th at 4:00. Please email me ASAP to let me know if you will be attending the meeting or with any questions. This meeting is for any and all teams/organizations interested in taking part in our skills program.
