Marquise Anthony Smith
Sunrise (10/30/95) - Sunset (04/07/13)
Today we remember a High Desert Storm Pop Warner Football Alumni, Marquise Anthony Smith, whom for two (2) seasons wore proudly the #1 on his jersey. Marquise was a huge factor to the success of the High Desert Midget Division and played a key role to bringing "Back-2-Back" consectuive season Divisional Championships for his representing city in Mt. Baldy Pop Warner Conference. Not only was Marquise a Team Captain for this squad for both seasons at High Desert Pop Warner, but he was also the driving force that led HDPW into Mt. Baldy Pop Warner Conference's history books to represent them at the National Pop Warner Championships held in Florida. Everyone who knew this young man would have known that he was a very respectful individual that would render proper salutations with a "Yes Sir or a Yes Mam!" He was a role model to his peers and especially to all the participants in the lower divisions with the STORM Association. Although Marquise football career consisted of six (6) dedicated, motivated and successful seasons, his fine attributes can be accredited to his raising by a single mother's unconditional love. His awesome inspirational Coach Martinez who thought more of him than a player but treated him like his own son. Marquise is survived by his mother, two sisters and a younger brother.
On behalf of HDPW any contributions to help the family with unforeseen funeral and burial expenses would be greatly appreciated. HDPW fund for Marquise Smith is Desert Community Bank acct # 0903894901.
Respectfully,
Tammye Williams
