The Muskoka Girls Hockey Association is committed to providing an organization for female hockey players in the Muskoka Parry Sound Region. We are committed to providing an organization with high standards and continuous skill development for all players at every level. We provide the opportunity to enjoy playing hockey on our teams while contributing to the success of the teams.

Our Mission is to provide an organization for female hockey players wishing to advance their skills and compete at the highest level of women's hockey. Through the dedication of the executive and coaches, we strive to prepare our players to be well rounded individuals on and off the ice.

IMPORTANT HOCKEY CANADA RULE CHANGE 2011 – 2012

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY IN ALL OWHA HOCKEY

ZERO tolerance measures for all head contact or checks in minor, female, junior and senior hockey:
- in minor and female hockey, a minor penalty shall be assessed for all
accidental hits to the head, while a double minor penalty, or a major
and game misconduct at the discretion of the referee based on the
degree of violence of impact, shall be assessed for any intentional
contact to the head;
- in junior (Junior A, B, C, D) and senior hockey, a minor and a
misconduct or a major and a game misconduct shall be assessed for all
checks to the head, at the discretion of the referee
- a major penalty and a game misconduct, or match penalty, shall be
assessed to any player who injures an opponent under this rule
