West Perry Families,
As many of you know from this season, our current jerseys have been discontinued by the manufacturer. The board has been working on replacement options. In efforts to acquire the funds necessary to purchase the new jerseys, we are offering players the purchase of their jerseys for this year at $25 apiece. Not only will this help us raise funds for the purchase of the new jerseys, but it will alleviate space issues for housing the new jerseys.
Your child’s jerseys from the 2016 season will be available to only him/her for purchase until practice starts next summer. After that, all jerseys will be available for purchase by anyone.
If you are interested, we will be selling them at the equipment turn-ins. If you’d like to purchase them after that, Melanie Jamison or Jen Poorman are available to make arrangements with you. Contact information for them is below.
Melanie: 461-5279 Jen: 497-3907
As soon as we have finalized designs for the new jerseys, we will post it on the website and on FaceBook.
END OF SEASON LETTER:
Here is an update as to some of the end of the season dates and times.
Equipment turn-in dates:
TIME CHANGE: Saturday, November 12th from 8:30 - 11 a.m. at the equipment shed.
Sunday, November 20th from 1-4 at the equipment shed.
Saturday, November 12th from 10 to noon at the WPMFA office on Church Street.
Sunday, November 20th from 1 to 3 at the WPMFA office on Church Street.
End of the season awards banquet information:
It will be held Sunday, December 4th from 1-4 p.m. in the West Perry High School Cafeteria. Our goal is to keep things moving this year, so that there is not as much sitting around for the players, cheerleaders, and siblings. We will provide drinks, sandwiches, fruit and veggie trays and cake. While we encourage the support for all of the teams, this tends to be a long and tiring day for some of the younger kids. If you choose to leave after your squad’s awards, it is understandable.
Here is the outline of the day’s events.
12:30 doors will open
1:00 Smurf Cheer and Football awards
1:45 Pee Wee Cheer and Football awards
2:30 Pony Cheer and Football awards
3:15 Midget Cheer and Football awards
Immediately following each of the squad’s awards there will be an area set up for team and individual pictures.
If you would like to bring chips or a desert to share, we welcome that. We will also have a donation jar available if you choose to donate to help with the cost of the banquet. This will be to help us cover the cost of the parents and siblings of our cheerleaders and players.
With the drastic changes that have happened within the CFA as well as the teams moving up into a much more difficult division, WPMFA has done extremely well. Without the support of the parents and coaches we could have not made this season as successful. Thank you for your support.
There is a GREAT feature on the website. We are able to send out alerts to parents & coaches for changes to the day’s program like practice cancelled, time changes, location changes or just about anything we need to. This will go to your email and your cell phone (if you have texting). All you need to do is click on the link in the upper right or lower left that says text/email alerts and follow the directions. This will NOT cost you anything EXCEPT where standard texting messaging rates apply from your cell phone carrier. This is a quick way of getting important alerts to you. If you have any questions please send an email to the website administrator.
CFA Football League
Zero Tolerance Spectator Rules of Conduct
Youth football is for the development and participation of young children. Football games are contests that allow our children to learn to honor the game of football. On the field officials penalize players and coaches when rules are violated and behavior is unsportsmanlike. Off the field, there are no officials to penalize spectators whose behavior becomes unacceptable due to stress and emotions.
In the past adult behavior that was entirely unacceptable resulted in the expulsion of organizations, adults and guilty persons from the CFA. Think about that for a moment. Children were denied the privileges of participating in CFA youth football because of some adult’s inappropriate behavior. We cannot have this unfortunate situation because it is unfair to our children.
Accordingly, effective August 1, 2011, the CFA, in order to protect the reputation and the participation of our children, hereby adopts the following to be enforced by all CFA Associations.
ZERO TOLERANCE SPECTATOR RULES OF CONDUCT
No Profanity is allowed
No intimidating language or actions shall be directed toward players, coaches, spectators, guests or anyone else
No heckling of game officials, coaches or players
Absolutely no spectators shall be allowed inside the fence during practices or on game days
Absolutely no alcoholic beverages are permitted during practice or games
The unacceptable behavior of a single spectator could endanger the continued participation of our entire group of children in this league. Consequently, any person who violates any one or all of the “Zero Tolerance Spectator Rules of Conduct” will cause themselves and possibly their participating child/children to be immediately expelled from the CFA Football League.
