LEAGUE OBJECTIVE

The objective of the NBBSA shall be to implant firmly in the boys & girls of our program, the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, & a respect for authority. In this way, they may be well-adjusted, stronger & happier boys and girls, to grow to be decent, healthy, trustworthy adults.

To achieve this the NBBSA will provide a supervised program of competitive baseball & softball. Playing rules will be based upon the organization under which NBBSA`s Board of Directors chooses to be chartered, plus local rules stipulated in our by-laws. Directors, Officers, & all NBBSA Members shall bear in mind that the type of leadership extended to boys & girls is of prime importance & that stressing of exceptional athletic skills or winning games is secondary to the main objective.

The NBBSA is a complete VOLUNTEER organization. To make our program a success we rely on the efforts of our volunteers; let us know how you can help.

Information for BASEBALL/SOFTBALL Workbond Parents ONLY

The Youth Sports Festival

June 15 thru 25, 2017

Location: Rt 1 North (on the grounds next to DeVry)

We're using SignUp (the leading online signup and reminder tool) to organize our staffing for this year’s festival.

Managers approved by the Board of Directors are exempt from working the Festival.

Coaches, Team Parents and all Parents/Guardians are required to work:

For 1 child registered = 1 shift at the Festival

For 2 or more children registered = 2 shifts at the Festival

If you do not intend to work the festival and would like to opt out of your work bond, please email Rosalie at rosalieberardo@gmail.com.

Please do the following to sign up for 2017 Youth Sports Festival for baseball and softball. Do not use this link to sign up for another sport!

1. Click this link or copy to your browser to go to our invitation page on SignUp:

http://signup.com/go/WweVZF

2. Enter your email address: (You will NOT need to register an account on SignUp)
3. Sign up! Choose your spots - SignUp will send you an automated confirmation. You will also receive a reminder email (2) days before your scheduled shift. Easy!

Note: SignUp does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact Rosalie at rosalieberardo@gmail.com who will sign you up manually.

Please note the following:

  • If you need to make a change to your current selection, you may go back into SignUp and switch to another available spot until the May 18, after this date the schedule will be locked.

  •  If you need to schedule a different time, after May 20, email your request to the Staffing Chair, Marie Krause at ysfstaffing@gmail.com.  All requests and changes are due on/before June 1.

  • If your child plays more than one sport and you need to work the festival for that sport also, please go to that organizations separate page and sign up there.

  • DO NOT just show up if you are not scheduled and expect to be assigned.

  • Please allow enough travel time to include parking and walking to the main entrance so that you arrive on time for your assigned shift … know that Friday and Saturday nights are extremely busy so consider a 45 minute lead time to ensure you are not late.

  • If you arrive 15+ minutes late, you may forfeit the opportunity to fulfill your work bond requirement as other dates/times may not be available for rescheduling; particularly if it is the last day of the festival.

  • Upon arrival at the gate, advise you are here to fulfill your workbond.  You will be directed to proceed directly to the Information Booth, located just inside the gate where you will check in and randomly be assigned a task.  Tasks include but are not limited to manning a carnival game, working at the front gate, directing traffic in the parking lot, or grounds which includes picking up trash. If you are unable or unwilling to fulfill any of these tasks; do not sign-up and be aware that your work bond will be forfeited.

  • DO NOT bring your children with you unless they are old enough to be on their own.  You are coming to the festival to fulfill your workbond requirements so if you bring your kids with you, you will be expected to pay the $5 admission for each child.  No kids will be allowed to stay with you while you work. If they cannot be on their own, you will not be allowed to work and will have to reschedule.

Thank you for your help and support!
