End of Season
The 2005 Junior Vikings 13-year-old travel team finished the regular season 11-11 in league play in the strong Greater Akron Baseball Federation, including exciting wins against the Ohio Hornets, the Ohio Jayhawks, and the Boys of Summer North and South teams. The Vikes didn't fare as well in tournaments, however, and ended the season with a 16-22 overall mark. The learning experience, which included an adjustment from 60-ft bases and a 46-ft mound in Little League the year before, to the larger dimensions of the junior field, prepared the players for their 14-year-old season in 2006.
