NEKA FALL CLASSIC
The 2012 NEKA Fall Classic concluded today with bad weather. The Tournament ran Wednesday October 24-28 in a pool play with a single playoff event. We are able to get the first three days of the tournament in but the final day was too rainy and cold. The 2012 Fall season was very successfut for our 12U division we had consistance play from the Ashland Blaze, Huntington Patriots, Raceland Crawdads, Kentucky Mudcats and the Russell Devils. The finals seedings for the tournament were:

#1 Kentucky Mudcats - They we're the overall #1 seed
#2 Ashland Blaze Maroon - They we the #2 seed behing the Mudcats only by one run
#3 Russell Devils - Defeated the Ashland Blaze Gray in the best game of the tournament.
#4 Huntington Patriots - Defeated the Ashland Gray in the only playoff game we had in the tournament.
#5 Ashland Blaze Grey - Played 2 really tough games in the cold but came up just short in both.

We would like to thank all the teams, parents and players for a really good fall season. Again, our sportsmanship from the parents and the competitive play between teams is what sets our league apart from all the others.

About the NEKA
The NEKA is a division of the AABC, it is where the best youth baseball players play in Northeastern Kentucky play. The NEKA plays by the AABC / USSSA baseball rules allowing young men develop proper baseball skills that will be needed for high school play. The NEKA has three different divisions of play for the 2011 season, 12U, 10U, and 8U. Each league is divided up into league play determined by the age or skill level of that team, each team will play either in the Frontier or Pioneer league of that age group. The regular season play will determine the seeding for the year ending tournament playoff to see who will represent Kentucky at the AABC East Regional tournament.
