BRAZIL AND ARGENTINA GO TO THE NY STATE CUP FINALS!!!!!!!!!!!

 

BRAZIL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - 5/19 & 20

 

Sammy and Bella -

This past weekend Brazil traveled to White Plains to play the semi-final of the NY State Cup.  They played a tough opponent in White Plains, they had big strong girls and Brazil had no subs.  It was tied 0-0 at halftime and that was because in the first 10 minutes of the game White Plains took a big shot from far away and the ball took a huge bounce.  The ball was going into the goal and our awesome keeper Bella went vertical and threw the ball over the crossbar, it was a great save and kept Brazil in the game.  Bella also made a few tough saves as White Plains forwards did get through from time to time, it was an all star performance from our goalie.  Brazil came out in the second half, Kassidy fed Sammy a threw ball and she buried the ball into the back of the net for the first goal of the game.  White Plains answered back with a wicked shot to tie the game 1-1.  Sammy didn't score 1 goal, not 2 but all 3 goals to put Brazil in the NY State Cup Final.  It was a great day for all the girls of Brazil as they played there hearts out in the sun with no breaks, Sammy did score all 3 goals but she had some great passes from her teammates.  HERE WE GO BRAZIL, LET'S BRING HOME THE CUP!!!!!!!!!!

Players of the Week for 5/19 & 20

 

Jenna and Katie B.

 

Argentina traveled upstate to play a tough and well trained World Class soccer team for the NY State Cup Semi-final.  The game was won by Argentina in double over time but 2 key players made a difference on the field.  Jenna not only is the player of the week for the second time but for me she is the most improved player of the season.  Lately her performances in goal have saved Argentina and on the field her hard work and goals have made a huge difference.  We will continue to ride the Jenna Wave all the way to the finals, great job Jenna and don't slow down!  With the semi-final game tied at 1-1 (a sweet goal by Kaylee) in the second over-time a ball came to Katie B. in the air just outside the penalty box.  Katie B. chested the ball and ripped a rocket volley into the upper 90 for the game winning goal.  It was a  highlight out of ESPN and a glorious goal.  Congrats to Jenna and Katie B. for being players of the week and also to the Argentina girls for making it to the State Cup final.
