Map Elite finished Season with a bang. Ranked Top 20 Prep Hoops Nationally 2019

Map Elite came into the Nationals ranked 31st in the Western Hustle Region. The Region covers 7 states including California, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona and Oregon.

Friday night the tournament stated with Map playing another solid OC team, the OC Rain ranked #34. It was a close battle throughout the entire game with either team leading by more than 5 points. Billy Barnes led the team in the final 3 minutes to a 52-47 win and a guaranteed a 2nd round match-up with #2 New Mexico D1 Prep.

Game 2 was Saturday and it was a epic battle of David and Goliath. Everyone expected New Mexico to run away with it but Map Elite had a big surprise. Playing great team ball and getting stops when they needed, Map Elite led at the half by 3. The 2nd half was back and forth with Moussa, Gabe, Billy and the entire team giving all they had. Final with 11 seconds Map Elite had to foul and #5 New Mexico's top player missed the front end of a 1 an 1 only to have New Mexico rebound the miss. They hit the next 2 freethrows and that was the game, 44-40 New Mexicos lowest point total of the year.

Game #3 Map bounced back with a 38-24 win over LA Elite. Playing shorthanded with Joe getting his chin busted open, Billy, Moussa and Gabe held the offense together while Parker and Julian played strong D.

Game #4 was a tough loss to Utah Elite ranked number 13. Playing with just 6 players the final was 58-51. Daniel Chelling played his best game of the year and was a force inside. Billy, Moussa, Gabe, Parker and Julian fought with everything they had in them. "I am very proud of these young men for all of the effort and hard work they put into this season. Finishing 31-13 and a possible Top 20 National Ranking is way more than projected by the so called experts. Prep Hoops in their final Podcast talked about our program first and about the great effort against New Mexico who made it to the finals. Next year we look even better with a 7'2" center coming in from France, Gabe coming back to be a 6'8" forward, Billy will bring his outstanding guard play at the 2 and Zavian Rivera have a shot to be our point. Julian with be back a year better and Daniel Bradford, who came along way this season, will be back. See you soon

Map Elite Goes 3-1 in West Coast Elite Showcase 2019

Game 1 was another victory over Mike Moore's OC Pride program. This one was the biggest beating ever in a dunk fest in front of college coaches and a large crowd with the final being 95-40. This marked the 19th straight win over OC prides 17/u team and is the most lopsided win ever in the last 10 years.

Game 2 was a battle with Melbourne Warriors Prep from Australia. Playing tired and shooting poorly, Map Elite struggled at the outset but fought back and got a 15 point lead. Final score 48-38. Moussa got hurt and was out of the tournament but Gabe, Parker and Daniel B led Map to victory.

Game 3 was the toughest and most physical games I've been involved with in years. When the dust settled and Oregon Elites center was tossed out of the game, Map Elite won 56-50. Frank played his best game and was chosen for a video interview.

Game 4 was a tough loss to Eastvale Prep a good, solid team. Playing shorthanded again but fighting the whole way, Map Elite lost 44-34 to finish a solid 3-1 in the Showcase.

Cream of the Crop 2018 Results for Map Elite

Game 1 against LA Rockfish, Map Elite started off where they left off last week with a solid 79-55 win. Team played together and ran away from a very good team.

Game 2 was against the other LA Rockfish 17/u team and Map Elite won 59-32. Map held Rockfish to just 10 points in the 2nd half.

Game 3 Playing before 23 Div 1 coaches, Map Elite, a huge underdog, gave a scare to Belmont Shores that won a handshake from Dinos with 50 seconds left in the game. Tied with 3 minutes to go, Map Elite playing shorthanded with just 7 players ran out of gas and lost 47-41. This was a Marque game and Maps stock went way up.

Game 4 Map Elite bounced back and beat TNT 76-51.

Game 5 was a request from Pasadena Bulldogs to play Map Elite, who had beaten them by 3 earlier in the year. Pasadena was undefeated and asked for this rematch. It was a physical game from the start and at the half Map Elite led by 6. The second half Map ran away from Pasadena finally winning 68-41 and settling any question about who was better!
