IT'S BEEN FUN!!!
August 25, 2007
With a heavy heart Coach Mike Imperiali announced that No Fear would be disbanding. It was a very difficult decision....especially after winning the tournament last week!!
What a way to go out on top!!!!!!
There were a variety of reasons (for the inquiring minds who need to know):
1. All of our coaches were having difficulty with the demands of their work and the demands of running a team. This made it difficult to schedule practices, games, and tournaments.
2. Some players were juggling other sports and teams, which made it difficult to coordinate practices and schedule games & tournaments.
3. Half the team is starting high school and will have to stop playing travel ball once tryouts begin in February. Many of these players felt the need to prepare for the tryouts and could do that with a team of Freshmen and Sophomores.
Where is everyone going?
Most of the players who are starting high school are joining the West Coast Bulldogs 16U team. The majority of the rest will be joining the West Coast Bulldogs 14U, while a couple will join the San Diego Toreros or Vista Pony.
Coach Imperiali will be an assistant coach for the 14U team. For more information about the West Coast Bulldogs visit www.leaguelineup.com/westcoastbulldogs
We all thank coach Mike Imperiali for all his years of dedication to the team and the players. No Fear was a family, which we all will miss!

Were you ready for some baseball? And baseball? And more baseball? Times two? Well, even if you weren't, the No Fearererererers were! A two day tournament and six games later, the boys in red came out champs! Karma in all its glory.
Day 1 (pool play) - Game 1 was against the Longhorns, remember? We won that one by a run or 3 - nail biter #1. This game was highlighted with typically great defense, pitching and some signs of life with the sticks. Next it was on to game 2 against the umps and the SD Stealth. With a rather controversial call at the plate that eliminated a tie and ultimately cost No Fear the game, the boys appeared confident - nail biter #2. With a 1-1 record, the team seeded 4th in their pool.
Day 2 (bracket play / single elimination) - the day the boys refused to quit. Game 1 against the Intimidators (our team wasn't because they had No Fear). A run-rule victory was achieved against this 5th seeded team from the other bracket. Next up were the Rebels, the undefeated number 1 seed from the other bracket. This was another low scoring game that wasn't decided by No Fear until the late innings - nail biter #3. Game 3 on Sunday was against the Dukes, the number 2 seed from our bracket. This game yielded a "California tie breaker" victory in the 8th when karma was corrected by another potentially controversial call that went the good guy’s way. Oh yeah, and a brilliant steal on a pitcher who cared more about his pants than the runner - nail biter #4. Finally, it was on to the fourth game of the day - the Championship - against the SD Stealth. Remember, this was the team that handed the boys their only loss of the tournament. After a quick start posted our visiting team to a 3 run lead, the Stealth responded with 4 of their own in the bottom of the first. Both teams settled into scoreless duel for a few innings until the boys in red tied it up late. Finally, in the top of the seventh, with two outs, an eruption of 5 runs occurred through some scraping and clawing. This gave the boys a comfortable lead heading into the last half of the final frame. Ultimately, No Fear ended the game in signature style with their 8th (at least) double play. With an explosion of excitement rarely seen with boys this age, No Fear walked away with their second tournament victory with nail biter #5! Congratulations the TEAM effort and to every player who participated as much as he could to make this a weekend to remember, or forget. Oh shoot, I don't remember anymore.
This writer deeply apologizes if some of the facts have been distorted or are purely incorrect. But, hey were YOU ready for that much baseball!
