Letter from Nor-Gwyn Pool Commission
March 8, 2011
Hello from your friends at the Nor-Gwyn Pool Commission. We’re hoping you are enduring this chilly winter and are looking forward to another season of fun and sun at the pool. Hopefully no more snow days!

We’ve been busy performing maintenance on our facilities. Our winter maintenance crews have been hard at work upgrading the ladies changing rooms. We’ve heard your helpful suggestions on how to upgrade our facilities and we are listening. In addition we are working with an outside firm to help us deal with some of the pools issues with aging and address some repairs which were made many years ago. We are in the process of a community wide survey and professional evaluation to help us extend the life of our local treasure. Thanks to all who received and took the time to complete and return our survey.

Our commission members are busy readying the registration packet for the 2011 season. Our new more interactive website is up and available, shortly we’ll have our new, on-line registration for those who want to pay by credit card. If you want to pay by check, you have 3 options, first you can download one of our new unified registration forms from the website www.norgwynpool.com . We can also e-mail you a registration packet, simply e-mail to registration@norgwynpool.com and let us know that you agree. Also, if you are planning to register on-line and paying by credit card, send us an e-mail so we can save the postage and paper. If we don’t hear from you, we will mail a traditional packet of registration information and hope to see you this season.

John High our summer manager is returning again this year and as well as our NCAA National champion swimmer Jackie Borkowski as our head swim coach and local diving coach phenom Kyle Goldbacher to help lead our diving program. You’ll recognize most of our returning guards and other local swimming and water polo participants from North Penn and surrounding communities to offer guidance to your children.

You’ll notice a new pricing structure to help accommodate more family situations, we have one pricing structure now with pricing based on family size to make pricing better reflect number of users and match pricing structures at other pool facilities in the area.
At this point we need to get the registration process started, so if you can help us be a little greener by accommodating e-mailed or online registration please do so by March 10th. Help minimize our environmental impact while reducing registration expenses.

Look to see you at the pool in the bright sunshine and thank you for your cooperation.

Nor-Gwyn Pool Commission
2011 Welcome
January 13, 2011
Hi Nor-Gwyn Crab families,

I wanted to give you an update on the plans that the pool commission has regarding possible renovations to the pool. The commission has hired a consulting firm, Wallover Aquatics to conduct a feasibility study. As part of this study, Wallover held two meetings on Wednesday night. One was with organizations and a few representatives of people that use the pool on a regular basis and the other was with government officials. I attended the first meeting and it was very positive with people sharing what they would like the future of the pool to be. On JANUARY 26th there will be an open meeting to the public. This meeting will take place at the Upper Gwynedd Township building at 7:00 PM. I encourage all of you to attend. Wallover will also be sending out a survey to 25% of the residents in North Wales Borough and Upper Gwynedd Township. This will include members and non members of the pool. They will then compile all the information gathered at the meetings and through the surveys. The commission will use this information to decide whether or not to move forward with a renovation. If they decide to move forward with a renovation all monies would need to be raised before the project would begin. The expectation is that the cost would be around $3 million. I will try to keep you updated with any new information that I receive.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at mdkrise@verizon.net or 215-699-6666

Thanks,
Missy Krise
President
