As the 2013 baseball season approaches, the Timberwolves are anxious to begin what they hope is a very successful season. Under the helm of their new Coach Doug Hentschel, who is starting his 1st season, Northwood has consistently competed with the best teams in the Great Lakes North conference. The 2011 team will be much improved on the pitching mound with many reliable arms to carry the load of the schedule. The team’s hitting will be a major source of the team strength, given some of the great bats that have returned this year. Knocking in runs with clutch hitting will be a real key to the team’s success. Coach Hentschel believes his team is very solid defensively, and the philosophy that defense wins championships is still the one intangible that will place the Timberwolves at the top or the bottom of the league this year. The Northwood Club Baseball program enjoys competing on one of the finest baseball facilities in the state. Varsity coach Joe DiBenedetto continues to insure a quality club experience for his players by collaborating in a very positive manner with his Varsity program to develop the best in his student-athletes both on and off the field.
