About N.O.V.A.
October 23, 2012
Welcome To Our N.O.V.A. (Na 'Opio Volleyball Academy) Ohana Website
NOVA formally known as Na 'Opio Volleyball Club is a junior women's volleyball club. Formed in 1996 by Al and Lani Elliazar.
Lani(Hayes)Elliazar is a former UH Rainbow Wahine Setter who not only lettered in volleyball under Coach Dave Shoji but also in basketball under the guidance of coaches Patsy Dung & Dennis Agena.
Lani is a committed, determined coach who is well established and takes a personal interest in each and every player.
Our Alumni of N.O.V.A have received scholarships on all levels of collegiate play. We take personal pride in making sure our girls are given every opportunity to go to college as well as play.
The club was formed to give young women a means to develop teamwork, social skills, discipline, self-esteem, good citizenship and leadership qualities through their participation in club volleyball. This club is recognized for it's sharp volleyball fundamentals and competitiveness.
Coach Lani has built a strong alliance with many college coaches enhancing our athletes opportunity to further their volleyball play and mainly their education.
Our coaches are all primarily made of NOVA alumnus whom have returned to help young players to reach their goal. We believe that volleyball not only prepares our players for future play, but also life's many challenges when learning commitment, patience, responsibility, camaraderie and being able to accept ones differences.
Players of all skill levels are encouraged to try-out.
