The ODFC Thunder is a Division 1, rising U18 girls travel soccer team located in South Riding, VA and competing in the Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL). The Thunder girls live throughout Northern Virginia and come from Ashburn, Leesburg, Sterling, Centreville, and Chantilly and are professionally trained 8 months of the year.
Coaching Philosophy
The Thunder coaches and trainers are dedicated to keeping the game fun while developing the girls soccer skills. We understand that coaching soccer is a huge responsibility and a privilege, and that it should always remain about the kids, their development, and the enjoyment that they have playing soccer. We believe in teaching the girls during practice and letting them show us what they've learned during the games - in other words, if we do our jobs at practice, then we shouldn't have to talk too much during the games. We strive to have the girls develop a 'soccer brain' while making new friends.
Field Closings
In case of inclement weather - LCP&R controls our fields and updates their Weather Hotline, 703-777-0456, by 4:00pm on weekdays and by 8:00am on weekends. I will also send an email if I find out about any field closings for practices; Julie Hussain will notify you if we have game cancellations.
