IMPACT softball organization was started by Brian Sterling in the winter of 2008-2009. The idea was to put together a 12U team of some of the best softball players in the Muskingum Valley area to compete against the best from the state of Ohio and beyond. In the process we would grow the quality of softball played in the area. The original 12U team was a huge success built by relationships grown on and off the field by players, parents, and coaches through hard work, team work, and committment. The team accumulated a record of 26-14, winning 2 tournaments, and competing in the ASA Eastern Nationals in Sterling, Virginia. The team was a tight knit group with excellent parental/family support and solid coaching. The Majority of the original IMPACT team is the 2012 16U squad. At the end of the season the decision was made to field several teams to grow the organization. The organization went from 12 players in 2009, to 33 players for 2010, 45 players for 2011, and adding a 10U team for 2012. IMPACT teams have won 8 tournament Championships and finished runner up 7 times through 2011. IMPACT has featured players representing area schools including: Tri Valley, John Glenn, Cambridge, Bishop Rosecrans, Coshocton, Philo, Maysville, Zanesville, Meadowbrook, River View, Sheridan, New Lexington, Shenandoah, Logan, Morgan, and West Muskingum repectively. The ultimate goal is to improve players softball skills and build character through teamwork to make an IMPACT on these young ladies future in high school, college, and beyond.
