Spring 2012 Baseball and Softball


Tryout Day - Saturday, February 4


OHYSA is aware of the rainy weather forecast and recognizes that this may impact tryouts. However, due to the number of players involved all leagues will proceed with tryouts as scheduled. Modifications of field use may occur, however your player should be at tryouts at their scheduled times.

Late Registration


Late registration will be conducted by individual league commissioners for both baseball and softball. You must contact the appropriate commissioner for registration and availability. Contact information for baseball can be found here. Contact information for softball can be found here.


Dick's Sporting Goods Shop Day


Saturday, February 11th is OHYSA Shop Day at Dick's Sporting Goods Bee Caves location. The league will be selling hot dogs and sodas, and will have a Juggs gun set-up! Come and join us for a day of discount shopping that benefits your wallet along with the league.

OHYSA is always looking for volunteer coaches. If you are interested in coaching or assistant coaching, please fill out the Volunteer Application Form and also the Background Check Form, and bring both forms to registration and talk with the league commissioner for the league you are interested in coaching in.   There will also be forms available at registration.


Baseball Umpire Clinic - Sunday February 5, 2012 & Saturday February 25, 2012


Baseball Umpire Clinic

Please be on time!!!

** Sunday February 5, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm - Pinto league umpire, One-Man System - MUSTANG2 FIELD

Required for all new, young (12 to 14 years old), non experienced guys. Recommended for younger umpires that have little Pinto experience & too young to move up (bring a clicker)

** Saturday February 25, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm - Mustang and above, Two-Man System - BRONCO FIELD

Required for all new, older (14 years old and up) non experienced guys for Mustang through Pony. Also recommended for those with little experience or no behind the plate experience - a good refresher for both plate and field for all(bring your plate gear and a clicker).

OHYSA Smoking Policy

** Reminder that smoking at the Oak Hill complex is allowed ONLY in the parking lots and not near any field, dugout, bleachers, etc. Please treat this rule as you would at any business or restaurant. Those who DO NOT obey this rule will be asked to leave the premises.

This rule is in place for the safety of our players, coaches, umpires and spectators.

OHYSA Complex Pet Policy

 ** Pets are not allowed at the complex (except for special assistance dogs). Even one problem is too many (and we've had that already). I know this is Austin and pets (especially dogs) are almost everywhere. Oak Hill is one place where we can't allow it - please treat this rule as you would at any business or restaurant. Those who DO NOT obey this rule will be asked to leave the premises along with their pet.

This rule is in place for the safety of our players, coaches, umpires and spectators.
