North Central AGM Concludes Nov 28, 2009
The North Central Region of the OTA concluded another successful Annual General Meeting on Saturday, Nov 28, 2009, held at the beautiful Glenway Country Club in Newmarket. This year there were 18 participants representing 7 of the 21 Community Clubs in the region. Members met in the morning for an active round-table discussion on successes and issues in their clubs, followed by a catered lunch and two hours of tennis on Glenway's indoor courts. Access the "Photo Albums" menu to view pictures of the AGM (or CLICK HERE to go the pictures directly).

North Central Region 2010 Executive
Elected Chair - Sid Schecter, Richmond Hill Lawn T.C.
Sid was a member of the executive board at Richmond Hill Lawn Tennis Club for about 5 years. He spends hundreds and hundreds of hours each season organizing various club events and RHLTC can honestly say that their club would not be in such a good condition if it were not for Sid. Sid was running a huge house league with over 120 members and he is also organizing their Social Round Robins, three times a week, Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays. Sid is always at the club trying to set-up fun and balanced games for all participants, while being ready to sacrifice his own play time.
Elected Committee Member - Shig Nakamoto, Bracebridge T.C.
Shig has been on the Bracebridge Tennis Club Executive for the past 10 years as Treasurer, Past President and President. He has been the Club's representative at the Tennis Canada meetings, OTA's AGM and other meetings. He also was the coordinator and captain of the Club's NCR League team. While the Club may be small in numbers (about 55 adult members), it’s big in heart thanks largely to Shig’s ongoing involvement with tennis in the local community and his support for the OTA.
