North Central is a Region of the Ontario Tennis Association
The Ontario Tennis Association ( OTA ) divides it's jurisdiction into 10 regions. Each of these 10 regions is represented by a committee who in turn represents the "member clubs" within their region.
The responsibilities of the Regional Committees include but are not limited to:
- Communication: Facilitate Communications between member clubs, between member clubs and third parties, such as municipalities; and between member clubs and the OTA, ensuring that clubs are aware of OTA Programs.
- Programs: Organize Programs such as league play and tournaments. Provide additional funding to member clubs based on areas of interest expressed by clubs in the region.
- Junior Participation: Understanding that Junior involvement is a key to the future of tennis, support Junior participation.

Operation
At the Annual General Meeting in October of each year, the clubs elect the North Central Committee, which has a mandate to organize and run programs of interest to its member clubs. The North Central Chair represents the region on the OTA Board of Directors.
North Central Region has a rich diversity of Clubs covering a fairly large geographic area (from Collingwood to Bracebridge, Orillia and Markham). There are approximately 41 Clubs that make up North Central, with between 7,000-10,000 members and over 175 active volunteers. These Clubs need to feel they are getting value for their membership dollars. To accomplish this, a regional budget is established annually based on a slate of programs to be executed. This slate is developed with input from the various Club contacts in the region, by holding one or more regional meetings throughout the year, combined with other forms of communication such as emails and phone calls.

Organization
North Central operates as a region of the OTA and submits an annual operating plan and budget for approval and funding by the OTA. The Regional Chair reports to the OTA Board of Directors.
