Papillion Predators become Papillion Select Baseball Storm Chasers

Competitive baseball is a perfect outlet for players who have a self motivated desire to compete in general, and a love for baseball specifically. These types of players will enjoy their experience in the Papillion Select Baseball Program.

Papillion Select Baseball fields select baseball teams for Ages 8-14. Papillion Select Baseball, in cooperation with the Omaha Storm Chasers, will be known as the Papillion Select Baseball Storm Chasers.

Starting with the 2013 season, the Monarchs, Predators, and Jr. Titans select baseball organizations are combining forces to form Papillion Select Baseball. For the existing teams ages 10-14 the Monarch, Predator, and Jr. Titan names may still be associated with those teams. Starting with the 2013 8 and 9 year old teams there will be a color coded system for the Papillion Select Baseball Storm Chasers.

The tournaments previously hosted by the three organizations will continue to be hosted in 2013. Look for information on the Storm Chaser Classic (Jr. Titan tourney in the past), Storm Chaser Summer Kickoff (Monarch tourney in the past) and the Papillion Day's NIT (previously hosted by the Predators) on http://www.papiorec.org/page/show/269215-baseball-select as well as on the Nebraska USSSA website as tournament information becomes available.

2012 Papillion Day's NIT Results

Thanks to all for your participation in the Papillion Day's NIT. Despite having significant rain Thursday night/Friday morning and again Saturday, we were able to complete 96 of 124 originally scheduled games.

Major THANK YOU goes out to all of the Predator families who pitched in to get the fields ready for play when most thought there was no chance of playing baseball. The Predator families also deserve a lot of kudos for prepping the fields for every game and making sure things ran smoothly.

Champions in the 2012 Papillion Day's NIT:

9s - Frozen Ropes Black
10s - Papillion Monarchs
11s - Grand Island Riverdogs
12s - Lincoln Dodger Blue
13s - Lincoln Dominators Purple
14s - Omaha Hawks

Thanks again for attending the 2012 tournament. We hope you and your families had a great experience and will consider our tournament in 2013.
