Our Program
The Purple Cobras girls AAU Basketball team based out of Sparta and Hackettstown NJ is one the largest girls AAU program in Northern New Jersey. Our teams are comprised of players from Morris, Sussex, Passaic and Warren Counties. We field teams in the 9/10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U, 15U, and 16/17U levels. The team plays an affordable yet very competetive Tournament schedule, participating in approximately 3-8 weekend tournaments (depending on the age level)against teams from New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Practices are held twice a week from March through June.
If you feel you have what it takes to play at a competetive level look us up! For general info or additional tryout Info call our contact person.
Our program emphasizes growth in individual and team skill as well as fair and equal playing time at the lower levels, moving on to a more competitive approach to playing time at the higher levels. Please note: This program is about enjoying the game of basketball, teaching higher skills and developing basketball players, not winning AAU championships. Our goal is to go .500 at every level (if you do much better than that you are not playing tough enough competition!) We also field fall teams at several levels each year. Again, practices will be held twice a week in September and October.
Head coaches at each level are highly experienced and every attempt is made to have non-parent coaches in these positions.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Our program is designed to minimize interference with our players home High School summer schedule. We are done with our spring season before players are allowed to practice as a team and participate in summer leagues. We may play in a summer tournament or two but every effort is made to respect each player home HS obligation.
