PIRATE PRESEASON NEWS
2010 PIRATE NEWS AND INFORMATION:
Dick Suess will be back with us for the entire 2010 season, as a helper with Coach Teo. He will serve as a coach during the tryouts/workouts, then switch to being the general manager/business manager during the season. Dick has a lot of new and exciting things planned for the team on and off the field. If you want to reach him you can call 253-851-3780 or email: pifl98@aol.com
The Pirates will be playing their 2010 home games once again at Peninsula High, Gig Harbor, Washington. Practice starting in February will be on the practice field at Fife High School. This will allow our players from Seattle and Federal Way, a shorter driving trip, and opens up the possibility of recruiting more players from Fort Lewis.
WE WILL PRACTICE FEBRUARY 13TH & 27TH IN FIFE. SATURDAY PRACTICES EVERY SATURDAY STARTING MARCH 6TH.
Coach Teo: I am going to be out of the country for 8 weeks during the months of January and February with minimal and very limited communication at my locale. Dick Suess and Brandon Torres will conduct and manage the Puget Sound Pirates Football Organization's day to day operations in my absence. The Puget Sound Pirates Football is an proprietary entity belonging to Coach Teo, Robin Teo-Suafa, Chris Teo, Tele Teo, Fia Teo, Popo Teo and Daniel Tipton.
PIRATES PRACTICE SITE IS FIFE HIGH PRACTICE FIELD:
Practice will be held on Satuday, January 30th, 11:00 a.m. on the athletic field across the street from Fife High School. Coming from Federal Way, take the first Fife exit (137). Continue through the first traffice signal, turn left at 23rd street (first left), and it will take you to the parking lot across from the H.S. Stadium, and you will see the pratice field.
From Tacoma take the last Fife exit (137) and turn right, go through traffic signal, turn left at 23rd street to practice field parking lot.
Please show up at 10:30 a.m. for registration. Wear warm workout clothes and grass cleats. We will be there rain or shine.
Fife will be our new practice site. This will allow us to recruit players from Federal Way, Kent and DesMoines. Practices will be ever Saturday.
UNIFORMS/EQUIPMENT/TEAM FEES INFORMATION:
The Pirates can no longer provide players with helmets, shoulder pads, butt pad etc. Nobody has returned what we issued them from previous seasons, so EVERYONE, no matter how good you are in football, must provide your own essential football gear (Helmet, Shoulder Pad, 7-Pc Pad and Cleats).
We will provide all players with information on where to buy new and used equipment. We will wear the new white jerseys for all away games, and will wear the royal blue home jerseys which will look like the Indianpolis Colts of the NFL. These will be provided to you. Our helmets will remain white, but will have a Pirates Logo decal with a blue stripe running from front to back down the center of the helmet.
We are asking you to provide your own white game pants (practice pants are acceptable with our uniforms). We will give you info where you can buy the white practice pants that doubles as a game pants so if you can buy a few, that way they are yours and you get the size you want, to fit the way you want it to fit. They are available at GUYS & DOLLS in Puyallup for under $20.00. Also required to be in compliance with CFL rules, everyone must purchase Royal Blue Game Socks.
The Puget Sound Pirates have reduced their player fee from $250 to $75 for the 2010 season. We will help all players raise the necessary funds for their fees and for other miscellaneous football related items. By offering and providing a "sponsorship" package each player can sell these packages to their family, friends, church members and your fellow football player from opposing teams in our league. In California I know of some teams that sold these spaces in their programs to wish their friends and family members good luck, you can also wish certain players happy birthday.
Our most popular FUNDRAISER PACKET is the "BLITZ BIZ CARD" Ad, it's 3.5" X 2.5" space in the PS PIRATES 2010 MEDIA GUIDE. An image of the sponsor's business card is directly transferred and placed onto the "BLITZ BIZ CARD" page alongside other great sponsors.
Our second most sold & most requested FUNDRAISER PACKET is the "HALFBACK HALF PAGE" Ad it's 5.5" X 8.5" and sells for $200 a bargain at that price, why? Because this packet also includes 4 2010 Season Tickets to the PS Pirates Football games starting in April. We know how effective direct marketing is to any business and its success. The General Manager have included in this packet; A PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCENT during all home games for the 2010 season, the business or individual that purchases this packet will hear their Business name and location clearly announced over the Public Address system after PAT's, Halftime, and during the PSPirates TimeOut and the Refs TimeOut.
BOOSTER CLUB:
The Pirates will have a "Boosters Club", so members can travel with us to away games, and help out at home games if they choose. We need equipment managers, statisticians, chain gang, game announcers, clean up, etc. Tell your friends, family, wifes, etc. They can purchase a boosters club t-shirt for ten dollars, and get a discount on game admissions at our home games. See Dick Suess for information.
HOME FIELD/LEAGUE INFORMATION:
The Cascade Football League currently has nine teams for 2010. The deadline for any new teams to join is January 23, 2010. We will play each team in the league once. The top six teams make the playoffs. Season starts the last weekend of April and ends in July. Top two teams play in the Far West Football Alliance games in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 16th. There is also a all-star game and Pirate players can sign up to play in it.
Our home field will once again be Peninsula High in Gig Harbor. Its a field turf stadium. Our complete schedule will be posted here after the league meeting.

RECRUITING:
We need everyone's help in recruiting new players, and former players to come back. Dick Suess is making up recruiting flyers, and you can have some to give out by calling or emailing him at his number at the top of this page. If everyone will recruit two new players we will be in good shape for 2010.
