A LETTER FROM YOUR PYFA PRESIDENT:
Dear PYFA Members.
I, again, hope that everyone is having a great off season, with basketball and baseball starting up; believe it or not, it is time for football registration. First, I reach out to each of you and thank you for a great 2014 season. You obviously make our chapter and we greatly appreciate that.
As of February 1, 2015, returning players are allowed to register for discounted rate; I invite you to partake, if you have the time. Please visit our website and register your player and/or cheerleader to receive a discounted rate. Different than previous years, GCPFL has allowed a “full team” requirement, therefore, first come first serve. Once a team is full, then registration will shut down for that that team.
I would like to think that the 2014 season was better than the previous seasons. New from the GCPFL, interesting enough we will be playing Peewee football instead of Flag football. After careful scrutiny, flag football has been eliminated and will be playing Peewee football within their own rules in the 2015 season.
We will personally be attending the USA/NFL Football National Conference in Indianapolis this year to carry on the USA football requirements. The Heads Up Program will continue be a pertinent part of our program.
GCPFL has also continued to expand; the Deer Park Seminoles will now be part of our league, as well as, the possibility for a couple of more. It is apparent that the calls that are received, that GCPFL continues to go in the right direction.
As you have seen we have obviously made major changes in the PYFA organization. We are going forward with a single team (Peewee thru Senior) to focus and manage the kids. This is strictly based on the fact on minimal volunteers and assuring that the kids have the best experience in their sport.
I have personally enjoyed my tenure with managing little league football because it is the game that I love so much, but I reach out to everyone in an attempt to get more volunteers for the future. The Vice President and I are both with the Senior team for 2015, and look for folks to take the chapter to the next level in the future. To be honest with you the benefits with Pearland is that it is a well ran chapter, both financially and operationally, so I invite anyone to our board meeting February 15, 2015 at 4 pm, if you need more details please call me at 713-906-5850.
Thank you all and I look forward to a great 2015 season; feel free to call me at 713-906-5850 with any questions or concerns.
