Wildcats be looking for their 3rd tournament win of the season in London this weekend. Should be fun.
North Star Broker Wildcats Scarborough Champs
Chrissy Colizza scored with 50 seconds left to force overtime which eventually turned into a shootout as Sault Pee Wee BB Wildcats took the title in the Scarborough Sharks tournament this weekend, Sarah Freeman scored twice, Mack Monico added 2 assists and Brit Zack and Rachel Mckinley had assists in regulation. Tied 3-3 the teams played 5 minutes of 4 on 4 hockey which solved nothing despite the Wildcats having numerous chances. Scarborough opened the shootout with a shot going in off the post followed by Colizza banking one in off the Scarborough post. Scarorough Sharks' second shooter was poke checked by Soo goalie Monik Pigeau and Mackenzie Monico scored what turned out to be the winner after Pigeau thwarted the 3rd Shark shooter. Brit Zack was named Wildcat player of the game.
North Star advanced to the final with a 2 win and 1 loss record. They opened with a 3-0 win over Napanee, Mack Monico scored twice and Chirssy Colizza added the other. After dropping a 1-0 decision to Kingston, the girls rebounded with a 3-1 win over Oshawa, Colizza led the way with a pair Rachel Barban had the other for the girls. The Wildcats earned first place by virtue of goals for and against and advanced straight to Sunday's dramatic final.
