On Saturday the East York Bulldogs travelled to Riverside park for a double dip against the RiverDogs. Peterborough started off quick in the first game and never looked back. The first game was highlighted by a dominant 6 inning pitching performance from Hugh Sullivan and the RiverDogs first home run of 2013 coming off of the bat of Garrett Fitzgerald.
The Second game started with clear skies however that quickly changed, drastically enough that the lights at Riverside needed to be turned on. The Riverdogs carried the momentum into the second game and sent Jordan Underwood to the mound for the start. Jordo kept the EY hitters off balance and tossed a 5 inning 2 hit shutout before the game was called after the skies opened up in Peterborough.
With the Sweep the Riverdogs improve to 5-0-1 in GTBL play and 7-0-1 in total. The Riverdogs have a busy week with 4 games in 4 days. On Wednesday the dogs host the Bolton Brewers who are coming off of a strong showing in the Annual Tillsonburg tournament, Travel to Martingrove on Thursday and then host the Leaside Leafs for a two game set on Saturday afternoon
