Pirates Best Senators

Lead

Portland, Maine - Alexandre Bolduc scored a goal and an assist and Justin Pogge stopped 31 shots as the Portland Pirates (22-19-2-3) defeated the Binghamton Senators (20-25-2-1) by a score of 5-2 in front of 6,026 fans at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Saturday night to snap a three-game losing streak. It was the first regulation loss for the Senators in their last six outings.

It was a high-scoring night across the competition as four people achieved the nightly high score of 7 points. One of those four was Andrew, will continues to maintain the overall lead in the PSN Cup and keeps a 7 point lead over second place Derek and Kevin.


Pirates Tamed by Tigers

Portland, Maine - Justin DiBenedetto and Tony Romano both scored twice as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (23-17-3-2) won their eleventh game out of their last 12 by defeating the Portland Pirates (21-19-2-3) 6-2 in front of 4,295 fans at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Friday night. Bridgeport is now 11-0-0-1 in their last 12 games. Their last regulation loss came on December 31. Portland has dropped three straight.

Pirates Shut Out by IceCaps

Portland, Maine - Eddie Pasquale stopped all 22 shots he faced to post his first AHL shutout and Spencer Machacek scored a goal and assisted on two others as the Eastern Conference-leading St. John’s IceCaps (27-11-5-1) defeated the Portland Pirates (21-18-2-3) by a score of 3-0 in front of 4,720 fans at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Saturday night. The win was the IceCaps fourth straight, while Portland will head into the AHL All-Star break with two straight defeats.
