What: The School District of Philadelphia and ESYHF are hosting a 3 on 3 Hockey Tournament at Penn Ice Rink to showcase the skill development of players from the School District of Philadelphia
When: March 13, 2010 with players arriving at 3:00 PM and ice from 4:00 – 5:30.
On ice: Players will be divided into equal (based on both ability and number) teams that will compete in a 3 on 3 tournament consisting of ten minute games. The ice will be divided using bumpers to allow for two games simultaneously, one in each zone, with a rest area in the middle. Records of the teams will be kept along with scores of the games to allow for a brief playoff format after a few preliminary games.
Players: Site coordinators and coaches at each rink will identify players that fit into the target group for this event. Those players will be players in grades 5-8 that are enrolled in a Philadelphia public or charter schools. Players will be asked to RSVP so that we can reach our target attendance of 40-70 players.
