Post-Season Banquet
The post-season banquet will be held on Friday October 23, 2009, at Crickets Fine Food & Spirits on the Bear Swamp Road in Peru, NY. Cocktails will be from 5:00 - 6:30 pm, with dinner and the awards banquet to follow. Cost is $20.00 per person. Come join us to celebrate the record setting 2009 North Stars season. North Stars Set Club Records
The Plattsburgh North Stars played in the Empire Football League Championship Game for the first time in the club's 19-year history. On Saturday October 10, 2009, the North Stars played the Watertown Red and Black in front of more than 3,000 fans at the Alex Duffy Fairgrounds in Watertown, NY. The Stars lost to the Red and Black 6-0, in one of the greatest close games in EFL Championship history. Several hundred loyal North Star fans made the trip to Watertown to cheer Plattsburgh on and the team is forever greatful for their support.
The 2009 Plattsburgh North Stars tied club records for most wins in a season, 11 wins, and best overall record, 11-4, with the 1995 team.
Brandon Keleher became only the second Running Back in North Star history to rush for more than 1000 yards in a season. Keleher finished the 2009 season with 1182 yards and 9 touchdowns!
Matt St. Clair became the first North Star Receiver to catch 4 touchdown passes in one game! On September 26, 2009, St. Clair caught 5 passes for 79 yards and 4 td's against the Massena Silver & Black Raiders.
Ken Stay became the first Quarterback in North Star history to throw six touchdown passes in one game! On September 26, 2009, Stay completed 13 passes out of 25 attempts for 238 yards and 6 td's. In 2009 Stay became only the second Quarterback in North Star history to pass for more than 2,000 yards in a season.
BJ Godfrey registered 100 tackles for the third straight season in 2009, a Plattsburgh North Star record. Godfrey finished the 2009 season with 101 tackles and one interception.
