Runs Hard To Come By As Eagles Come Up Short
June 28, 2009 Oliver Aldrich pitched a solid game for the Eagles, giving up only four hits, but the run support was not there. "This was a tough game for us because I felt like we had chances to put runs on the board and we just didn't seem to get the timely hit when we needed it" said Coach Godlewski.

    Ken Cook Throws 7 Solid
June 28, 2009 Ken Cook had 8 Strikeouts in a dominating performance over league newcomers Sherrill. Coach Godlewski said, "Cookie is a stellar pitcher with the capability of frustrating many hitters. He can get behind in the count and then come right at you and sit you down." Billy Manley and Aaron Zrenda were the co-offensive players of the game going 3-3 at the plate and scoring three runs combined for the Eagles and each having one RBI.

Erickson Yields Only 4 Hits To Help P.N.A. Earn Split
June 27, 2009 Tyler Erickson produced another great pitching performance to help P.N.A. get even on the day against the Utica Brewers. "Tyler was able to keep the Utica hitters off balance the entire game" said Coach Godlewski, "It was a lot of fun to watch him do his thing." The P.N.A. Eagles jumped out early to a 2-0 lead behind hits from Aaron Zrenda and Billy Manley in the 1st Inning. The Eagles padded that lead in the second when with two down, Tucker Lancelin and Ted Mills each singled, followed by a Drew Arnesan Walk and a double by Nate Novak that brought in two more runs making it 4-0. In the 3rd, hits by Matt Eisenhuth, Oliver Aldrich and Tucker Lancelin brought in one more run to complete the scoring for the Eagles en route to a 5-3 victory.

Utica Hands P.N.A. First League Loss
June 27, 2009 Nate Novak kept the P.N.A. Eagles in the game for 5 solid innings of work behind 6 strikeouts. The Eagles came into the game having played only 3 previous contests compared to 16 games Utica had played. "I think that because we have had so many rain outs this season, our guys just haven't had the opportunity to see as much pitching and get as much work together as we would have hoped for by this time" said Coach Godlewski. Heading into the 6th Inning the game was knotted up 4-4. A walk followed by two singles loaded the bases in the bottom half of the 6th for Utica. "As much as I wanted to see Nate work his way out of this jam, I felt we had to try and break the rythm of a solid Utica team. With the bases loaded a fielder's choice and a strikeout had P.N.A. one out away from getting out of the inning. Unfortunately, a timely bases clearing double left the P.N.A. Eagles down 7-4 heading into the 7th. P.N.A managed to get back two of those runs in the top half of the 7th but were unable to push across the tying run to keep the game going.

June 17, 2009 - 05:30 PM The Eagles scored 4 runs in the first and moved on to a 9-2 victory over Granville behind 4 innings of 2 hit pitching by Nate Novak, making his first start of the season. Aldrich came in to pitch an inning and the final 2 frames saw Shawn McConnel strike out 4 while giving up 2 hits.

P.N.A. Eagles Off To A Good Start
June 14, 2009 - 05:30 PM The Eagles opened their season with a split with the highly regarded Saratoga Stampede on Sunday, June 14th. All-New England First Team Pitcher Ken Cook (Castleton State) pitched 6 scoreless innings, giving up 2 hits while striking out 7. Oliver Aldrich (Castleton State) came in to close the game striking out 2 and getting a comebacker to finish off the Stampede. Nate Novak (U-Albany) was the hitting star, driving in both runs with 2 doubles.

In the second game, Eagles starter Billy Sisko (Castleton State) struggled with the rain and wet conditions, walking in 4 runs in the second while giving up a total of 7 runs in the frame. Bright spot for P.N.A., was the relief work of Tyler Erickson (Castleton State), who pitched 4.1 scoreless innings. The Stampede won the second game, 12-2 after the game was called due to lightning in the area.

The Eagles have hired, Todd Godlewski to skipper the 2008 P.N.A. team in the ECBL. Godlewski's background includes one season (2003-2004) as the Head Coach for the Division III Minnesota State University-Moorhead Dragons, compiling a 18-11 record. Prior to his work at Minnesota State University, Godlewski was the Pitching Coach for District 2-2A St. Fredericks High School in Monroe, Louisiana (1999-2002). Godlewski’s pitching staff led the team into the state quarterfinals two of the three years. Godlewski began his collegiate level coaching career with the AAABA Schenectady Blue Jays (1994-1998). Godlewski also played five seasons with the Schenectady Blue Jays dating back to 1989.

Godlewski has served as a Graduate Assistant Coach for former Louisiana State University Tigers Head Coach Ray “Smoke” Laval while Coach Laval was at the University of Louisiana. Godlewski also worked as an understudy for three seasons, with the current assistant coach for the Georgia Bulldogs, Brady Wiederhold. Godlewski has facilitated dozens of baseball camps and clinics for over 500 athletes.

Godlewski was a three-year letterwinner at Gannon University in 1991, 1992, and 1993. While playing, Godlewski compiled a winning record for the Gannon University Golden Knights.

Godlewski, 38, earned his M.A. in Communications from the University of Louisiana. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and Associate of Science in Finance from Gannon University in 1993. A native of Niskayuna, N.Y. Godlewski is married to the former Amy Denise Spillers of Downsville, LA.

The Eagles will play under the management of the Belmont Baseball Club, Inc. This club originated from the P.N.A. Council #53 Athletic Club in 1988. P.N.A. stands for Polish National Alliance with national headquarters in Chicago, Ill. The local organization is based out of Schenectady, New York. The Athletic Club and the BBC were started by Bob Godlewski to help perpetuate youth, young adult and collegiate baseball throughout the Northeast. The BBC started with a single baseball team in 1989, the Belmont Red Sox. In 1990, the Red Sox name was changed to the Schenectady Blue Jays. The change was made to honor the former minor league Blue Jays who competed in the Eastern League for many years until they left Schenectady in 1958. At the time a single team of collegiate players were put together to play a high level of baseball along the East Coast. Through 2004, the Blue Jays played games in 26 states, participated in numerous national tournaments, travelled to Europe twice and garnered 2 CABA National Championships, 3 CABA second place finishes and 2 AAABA third place finishes along the way. From 1990 through 2004, this organization has had 39 players move on to the Professional ranks (baseball) and 2 into Pro football, the latest being Zak DeOssie a member of the New York Giants.
