The PSI RBI League(Ages 16-18) is a grass-roots baseball playing opportunity for players created in 2000 by Coach Paul K. Johnson with the approval of Meghan Leary and Rob Holiday of the Phillies. It gives many high school age players an opportunity to play recreational baseball in the inner-city.
Also for the 4th consecutive year, the Sayre/Morris RBI League & Recreation Center in conjunction with the Philly Area Black Sox, has agreed to operate the Philadelphia Phillies City RBI Championship Tournament (Juniors 13-15).
City RBI Championship Tournament (Juniors 13-15)
Our goal is to provide you with the dates for this tournament ASAP for your game planning purposes. Each league will now only be able to submit one (1) of their Intramural teams (no more All-Star Teams) from their League. This is due to problems with players being on multiple rosters from competing teams and leagues. Team rosters will be due early and on a first-come first-serve basis.

LIGHTHOUSE PHILLIES WIN 2006 PSI RBI CHAMPIONSHIP
August 26, 2006 —
LIGHTHOUSE PHILLIES 2006 PSI RBI CHAMPS THE LIGHTHOUSE PHILLIES WIN THE PSI RBI CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES OVER THE PHILLY AREA BLACK SOX IN THE 10TH INNING OF GAME 3 WITH A FINAL SCORE OF 16-15! Lighthouse Wins PSI RBI Baseball Championship Wraps up 2nd Championship in 4 years The Lighthouse Phillies Baseball (Ages 16-19) team won the Philadelphia Senior Intramural RBI Baseball Championship on Saturday, August 26, 2006. They defeated the Philly Area Black Sox in the third and final game of the series in a suspended game in the bottom of 10th inning with a score of 16-15. This marks the second PSI RBI championship for Lighthouse after they also defeated the Black Sox in 2003. The series took seven dates to complete because the games ran up against sunset and could not be completed in time. After Lighthouse dominated in Game #1 with a score of 7-0, the Black Sox made it competitive in Game #2 by winning 5-4. Both of those games took 2 days to complete. However, Game #3 took 3 days to finish over the course of a week when Lighthouse came from behind twice to force extra innings. “I felt like our guys played the best team out there which was the Black Sox. They never gave up. This is what we’ve been doing all year. Despite the errors, we teach these guys never to give up on themselves or their teammates. This season had a lot of ups and downs and we overcame a lot of things but they came together as a unit at the end. As a unit nobody could beat them. We could only beat ourselves. When we’re down I tell them to always to fight for what they believe in. This year we were blessed with a lot of talent. This was one of the best series that I’ve ever been in. It took a lot of work but we finally came through”, said Jose Torres, Head Coach of the Lighthouse Phillies. Stanley Hildago was named the MVP of the series by Lighthouse. He pitched extremely well and came up with some key hits during the championship series. “Lighthouse played extremely well this series. They beat us in the first game, came close to defeating us in the second game, and never gave up in the third game even though we had several chances to put them away and win this thing. I’m proud that ourteam played tough against this team,” said Paul K. Johnson, Head Coach of the Black Sox. The Philadelphia Senior Intramural RBI (PSI RBI) Baseball League was co-founded by the Philadelphia Phillies, Sayre/Morris Recreation Center/RBI League, and Johnson in 2000.
