Welcome to the Putnam Athletic League Site

Welcome to the Putnam Athletic League, Inc. Web site and thank you for taking the time to visit us. We are a non-profit organization that supports the youth of our communities. We have ten associations, which are all dedicated to administering Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading programs for boys and girls.

As always, our goal is to provide a drug-free environment for our youth while instilling teamwork, sportsmanship and most of all acceptable academic achievement.

Our Mission

The mission of Putnam Athletic League Pop Warner program is the same as that of Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. To enable young people to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, Pop Warner programs teach fundamental values, skills and knowledge that young people will use throughout their lives.

Pop Warner seeks to provide fun athletic learning opportunities for children, while emphasizing the importance of academic success.  Specifically, Pop Warner seeks to familiarize players and spirit participants with the fundamentals of football, cheerleading and dance. Pop Warner strives to inspire youth, regardless of race, creed or national origin, to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness as reflected in the life of the late Glenn Scobie “Pop” Warner.

Bill Lang Named Southeast Region Male Coach of the Year 2015

Bill Lang Coach Of The Year 2015Congratulations to Bill Lang, President and Pee Wee Football Coach of Santa Fe Pop Warner who received the Southeast Region's 2015 Male Coach of the Year Award on Saturday, March 12, at the Annual Southeast Regional Meeting.  Bill was nominated by his association for his years of service as a coach, and for his continued support to their program for the past 12 years.  "This award represents more than winning championships, it represents the integrity a coach displays to his players and demonstrates beyond the field to his organization and community." says Ricky Wright, football coordinator for the Southeast Region.

Bill began his tenure in our organization in 2003. Yes he has a love for the game of football, but he has a passion for the Pop Warner Brand.  He pushes those around him for excellence. Whether it is academic excellence, football championships, or cheer and spirit achievements those around him are always encouraged to do their very best.  As other football programs have tried to come into our community, he has fought to keep our programs alive and under the Pop Warner program. Bill has progressed from coach, to board member, and league football coordinator.  Despite his leadership roles, he continues to work diligently to provide a safe quality program for generations to come in our Santa Fe Community.  His years of services are invaluable to Santa Fe and Putnam Athletic League. Congratulations again BIll for award as 2015 Southeast Region Male Coach of the Year.
