Piscataway Blaze Baseball: "An Independent travel town team playing at an elevated level to prepare young men for High School Baseball".
November 14, 2004-
The 2004 Piscataway Blaze Baseball Season has come to an end. We as a team have encountered some great memories this past year. After playing over 50 games this year hopefully the players will remember the lessons taught and the good experiences they had and learn from the bad ones that they choose to forget. Sixteen months ago this team was formed with one purpose, which was to play competitive travel baseball so the young men on this team could prepare themselves for high school baseball. Over this time the team has played in some great games against some very competitive teams. The players have learned and experienced how baseball is played at this level and how it will be played at the next level which is high school. This was our main objective for the team. Thanks to the players, coaches, and parents for their support and effort over the past sixteen months. A special thanks to the coaches who helped not just on the field, but who had helped off the field as well. Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances the Piscataway Blaze Baseball Team will disband and not participate in the 2005 Baseball season. Good luck to all the players on your future baseball endeavors.
Best Wishes, Coach Seader
Why Do We Coach? A friend came up to me the other day and asked me, "Hey Jim, you have coached baseball for 30 years now why do you like to coach? It's a lot of work, you don't get paid, and it takes up alot of your time". Well, I think this story says it all.....
The Star Thrower- There was a man who was walking along a sandy beach where thousands of starfish had been washed up on the shore. He noticed a boy picking up the starfish one by one and throwing them back into the ocean. The man observed the boy for a few minutes and then asked what he was doing. The boy replied that he was returning the starfish to the sea, otherwise they would die.The man asked how saving a few, when so many were doomed, would make any difference whatsoever? The boy picked up a starfish and threw it back into the ocean and said "Made a difference to that one..." The man left the boy and went home, deep in thought of what the boy had said. He soon returned to the beach and spent the rest of the day helping the boy throw starfish in to the sea.... Loren Eiseley
We as coaches try to make a difference in every player; some succesful some not as succesful.
