The RCLL 12 year-old All-Stars won their area brackets with 3 mercy-rule wins and then faced a tough, seasoned Fair Oaks team for the D5 championship.  A 3-1 win in the first game of the 2-out-of-3 format served notice that the road to the D-5 title would be tough for whoever came out on top.  Unfortunately for our boys, the Fair Oaks squad came back with 2 impressive wins to capture the D-5 title.  Injuries to a number of starters proved too much to overcome but the boys battled to the very end and our league is proud of them.  Many thanks to coaches Pyles, McLeod, Guerrero and McMillan for their time and effort with the boys.

The RCLL 11 year-old All-Stars won the D5 CHAMPIONSHIP on July 12, 2012 and moved on to play in the Sectionals at Woodcreek Little League on July 14, 2012.  In the first game of the Sectionals against West Sac, the boys battled in a close game trailing 1-0 into the 5th inning before giving up 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th and losing a hard fought game 4-0.  The next evening, the boys fell behind Land Park 7-2 before creeping back to within 7-4 only to lose 9-5 and ending their post-season.  Many thanks to coaches Bryan Savea, Chris Espinosa and Bill Upton for the time and efforts they put forth in getting the boys ready to play.  The D5 Championship Banner will be on display for all to see at Opening Day 2013.

Finally, we'd like to thank all of the parents and fans who supported ALL of the teams throughout the 2 weeks with days where we had 3 teams playing on 3 different fields and our stands were still packed with supporters.  You all showed class and sportsmanship in victory and grace in defeat.  We now move on to Fall Ball and then right back at it for the 2013 season.  Look forward to seeing you all out there!!
