Hawks Win First Game Of Season 33-7 Over Vikings

The B team took control early as Tyler Shanholtz scored on a 35 yard run up the middle for the first score of the game. Later in the first quarter Garrett Weaver dropped back for a pass but when the protection broke down he took off to the left side of the field and went 20 yards for the score. When the A team took over in the second quarter Matt Miller scored on a 52 yard run and Stephan Buser converted the PAT. After Halftime with the score 19-7 the B team again put up points as Blake Rhodes scored twice the first being a 5 yard run in which Tyler Shanholtz coverted the PAT and the second being a 6 yard run. Carter Houdersheldt converted that PAT with a sweep to the right. The B team Defense agained proved tough as they gave up no points on the day. In the forth the A team held tough giving up no points and sealing the victory for the home team. Next weeks game will be against the Eagles for our last home game of the season.

The Hawks lost their fourth game of the season falling to the Saints 45-31. The Teams battled as the B team posted a score of 24-7 in the Hawks favor while the A team went up against a tough and speedy Saints A squad and fell 38-7. For the day the Hawks showed great team spirit and fight as they battled all day. For the B team we got great defense from the entire squad giving up one touchdown. On the offensive side of the ball Carter Houdershelt scored two touchdowns while Noah Abe and Blake Rhodes each had one. The A team scored on a Stephen Buser three yard run and Tanner Ashenfelter converted the PAT. The C team lost to the Saints. Hawks Defeated by Reds 55-7
The Ridgeley Hawks fell victim to the Reds Saturday morning at Ridgeley High School as the Reds won the combined A & B Team scores 55-7. In the first quarter our B teamed played extremely well and was able to put a drive together on the first series of the game only to come up a foot shy of converting on a forth down play. The defense held tough as they gave up no points. The A team then took control however the Reds were very solid up front and showed speed in the backfield. The Visitors put up 34 points in the second quarter as the Hawks were not able to answer with any points. In the third the Hawks B team again played tough as the defense showed extreme heart as they only gave up a few yards to the Reds and the Hawk Offense was able to provide 7 points on a Blake Rhodes touchdown run and a Carter Houdersheldt PAT. The A team once again took the field in the forth and again gave every once of effort but the Reds took it to the team putting up 21 points. In defeat we still show pride and a great attitude and continue to look forward. On a positive note the B team continues to play solid football as they have now only given up Nineteen points this season. Offensively we continue to improve and show extreme skills on the line as each week our opponent usually outweighs us by 30lbs per man. Next week the Hawks will try to achieve victory against the Saints at the Saints field along Mason Rd.
