U-14 PRACTICE & ORG MEETING

2012 SEASON
***************TRYOUT DATES********************
Because of the mild winter, we have decided to get an early start with the tryouts this year. Tryouts for travel softball will be held at Central Field (across from the firehouse) and are scheduled as follows:
Sat March 10 - 12 & Under 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
10 & Under 1 PM - 3:00 PM
Sun March 11 - 10 & Under 11 AM - 12:30 PM
12 & Under 1 PM - 2:30 PM
Sat March 17 - No tryouts (St Patrick's Day parade)
Sun March 18 - 10 & Under 11AM - 12:30 PM
12 & Under 1PM - 2:30PM
Tryouts for the U-14 & U-16 teams will not be held on these dates - the girls in those age brackets will be contacted by your coach with more information shortly.
Girls must make two of the three tryouts to be considered for the teams. If you daughter is going to wear her own helmet - IT MUST HAVE A FACEMASK. She will NOT be able to hit with the pitching machine if she does not have a helmet with a facemask (there will be helmets to use if she doesn't have one).

In the event of inclement weather - please check the website. Information will be posted no later than an hour before the first tryout if we need to cancel.
**** YOU MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE SAA TO ATTEND THE TRYOUTS - THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.****
We are hoping to have two 10 & Under teams, two 12 & Under teams, one 14 & Under team, and a 16-18 team, depending on interest. The age bracket your daughter will play in is based on her age on January 1 (if your daughter is 10 on January 1st, she plays in the Under 10 group for 2012 (even if she turns 11 before the season starts).
There is an additional fee of $ 40 per child to play travel softball - this covers the cost of the umpires. This cost will be due after the teams are set - do not bring it to tryouts.
The travel softball season runs from the third week of April to the last week of June. If the team makes the playoffs, you will be playing into the first week of July. Games are usually scheduled during the week, however there may be some weekend games scheduled, especially if games get rained out. There are NO games scheduled on either the Memorial Day or 4th of July weekends.
