Bulldog Parent's Pledge
November 15, 2009 Wrestling is an exciting sport, but sometimes the enthusiasm we have for competing can get the best of us and lead to behaviors we'd like to minimize both within our team as well as within the league. To guard against this, we'd like all parents to read, understand, and agree to the following "parents pledge":

  • I agree that the most important outcome of any sport is for my child to have fun.
  • My child needs my approval, encouragement, and support, regardless of what happens in the match.
  • I will refrain from the use of negative or derogatory language aimed at the officials, the coaches, my child, or other wrestlers or parents.
  • I will do my best to model the sportsmanship-like behavior I wish my child to adopt, and to support the coach in making this the best possible experience for my child.

In addition to modeling this behavior yourself, you should fully expect this commitment from all others involved in the sport, including coaches, officials, and other parents. Let's work together to make sure Bulldog Wrestling remains a fun and healthy sport for all involved.
