Santa Clarita Knights
Professional Developmental Football Team
Based in Santa Clarita, California, the Knights were a professional developmental football team. It's purpose is to provide players and coaches the opportunity to fine tune their skills as they made an attempt to reach a higher level of football. It also offered an exciting experience of live action football for all fans and are committed to providing a comfortable atmosphere for players, coaches, and fans to enjoy the game.
In 2005, the Knights had a very promising inaugural season. The team finished with a 4-5-1 record, including a huge blowout victory over cross-town rivals, the Southern California Cobras, as well as a playoff birth.
The 2006 season got off to a rocky start. Realizing this early on, the Knights owners and coaches made a strategic decision to use 2006 as a rebuilding year. Despite a tough season, the Knights secured a second straight playoff birth and strengthened the reputation with the teams never say quit attitude.
The 2007 season marked the teams third year in existence. It was a down year but the Knights continued to build on a reputation as a hard-hitting, disciplined and tough playing team.
The 2008 season was the Knights most successful season as they finished with a 5-5 record. They began the year merging with the Spartans and increased their numbers. They opened the season starting 1-0 for the first time in history by defeating for the first time California Predators/Bandits also. Securing a playoff spot for the third time in 4 years the Knights were knocked out in the first round.
After four years the Knights shut down operations for the 2009 season and future years.
